Pasand toh thi but jeet was not the same person anymore. I mean bro was depressed and suicidal. I think he moved on completely from his previous life after paying them. Therefore when he heard about Pooja*s marriage he was kinda happy for her.

I believe in the biggening of the movie it is pretty clear that jeetu/shahid kapoor is not into pooja and only engaged because the families wanted it plus he always asks pooja to marry someone else and doesn't give her much time to talk cause if he really wanted her then why would he not focus on fixing things and ask her to marry someone else he was low-key just being nice to her because of the whole childhood family friend thing. In second half he isn't forced by anyone to marry shruti. It is just that shruti likes him and asks her sister to tell to which he tells her he likes her back yes thier is a awkward conversation between shruti and him when at first he didn't know sign language but then that went away as learned sign language. Now I believe jeet was not a asshole because as per his knowledge pooja was married living with her husband so like any person he just moved plus he was away for they a couple months so that helped the fact and he knew according to his family and pooja he was dead he even stopped himself from visiting back home not to hurt pooja and as per shruti after moving on he developed feelings for her so gave her a chance. Now pooja wasn't married to jeet so thier was no need to dedicate her life as window girl was obsessed and needed a psychiatrist. Shruti's brother was a little too over protective of his sister because of her being heartbroken already and asking jeet to promise him he was being overprotective and treating jeet like property was also a little too overprotective it was out of good though. The end was a little wierd sweet pooja who is meaner than we thought no fun intended ("SARCASM") changes her mind as she thinks that jeet is the best shruti can get and that pooja her self can find someone like jeet. And so shows pitty on shruti. Final thought shruti really loved jeet unconditionally and without being obsessed or controlling of jeet she respected him and never force him to do anything for her against his will and jeet loved her back as he of all wasn't shown pitting for being mute while he said made me doubt his love but now that I think of it jeet only said money after promising shruti's brother and put his life in risk when he speaks back shruti s brother also begging for a chance with shruti plus he told shruti everything about him and cliams she knows him the best. Shruti and jeetu married in the end.
