The worst was Pooja's father badly insulted and beaten by Shruti's family. I thought they hinted at the end for a love story starting between Pooja and Suniel Shetty's character. Or may be Inam mistaken since I watched the movie long back.

You feel bad for Pooja in the end. She waited for Jeet for so long and still didn't get her love. Even though they weren't married, she became Jeet's widow thinking he died. She was truly devoted to Jeet. You can even call it obsession and stubborness. I mean she could've decided to not marry any other guy to show her loyalty to Jeet.

But she went a step forward and became his widow, although they were never married. That wasn't enough, so she also went to live in Jeet's house and became a burden on his family.😆

She did let go off Jeet once she got to know that Shruti is mute. That also is kind of problematic because she just took pity on her.

Both Pooja and Shruti had such tragic stories, Jeet leaving either of them would have made him look like an asshole. You also wonder if Jeet was ever in love with either of the girls. Pooja was supposed to be his childhood sweetheart but the movie never showed him being into her. And it seemed like Jeet only agreed to marry Shruti because her family paid off his debt and he owed them.

In an ideal scenario nobody should have married anyone, because Jeet loved neither Pooja nor Shruti. But this movie came out in 2006, and it was a remake of Malayalam movie Punjabi House which came out in 1998. So you can't expect movies to have such feminist endings from that time.

Shruti becoz jeet was happy without pooja. He didn't miss her at all. He was happy with Shruti. He moved on easily from pooja. So Shruti n jeet was right

Jeet was told by bandya that Pooja got married. So he too moved on n Shruti too thought Pooja is married. Jeet was moved by Shruti's kind nature hence fell for her.

Later her family got to know n tried to help his family so he didn't go back.

In last scene jeet was already in love with Shruti so they should only marry. But jeet was crying that's why Shruti sacrificed. When two ppl r in love only they should marry.

Yes.but pooja loved him that much.she couldnt even think of loving and marrying anyone else.thats why she preferred to live as his widow.cant blame her also.(in a classic malayalam movie which was inspired by a real life story the heroine lived in her lover's house as his widow after his death.her love was praised but pooja's love wasnt praised bcz she was not the heroine of the movie).i felt bad for her bcz her love was not valued just bcz she didnt have any defect like sruti. What if pooja was also having a defect like sruti? Ha ha.

You are right.people would have felt sad for sruti.thats why one person suggested double climax.

Oh so it was based on a true story? Okay.

Yeah I get she was really in love. She was living like a widow. That makes you feel far more bad for her character. She wasn't just any girl waiting for him and not moving on. She dedicated her life for him. I think Jeet did love her at one point, but he was over her even before he tried to commit suicide and met Shruti. He could've just told Pooja straight that he doesn't love her anymore, instead of asking her to get married to someone else because of his financial condition.

It was because of Pooja's father insulting Shruti. No there was no such hint like that.

Pasand nahi thi toh seedha bol deta Jeet. Usne bhi Pooja ko wait karaya because he wasn't honest about his feelings.

But was he even in love with Shruti?

He told his family and Pooja that he sold himself to Shruti's family because they paid off his debt. It seemed like he got the chance to marry a rich girl and become the son-in-law of a rich family and he took it.
