The dustbin was important to me because it reminded me a rather black crime-comedy with Irrfan and Divya I had watched about 3 years ago...I didn't know the title anymore (I've a bad memory for titles) but then I read Charu's guess and bingo!

So I join her with my guess of the same movie 😊 (and will patiently wait for the solution, but still interested if there is another movie where "only dustbin knows").

Until I read the "dustbin" line, I immediately thought of Ajnabee (often cited in other movie-guessing-threads). but in Ajnabee, I don't remember a dustbin playing a major role.

Also in Ittefaq... the dustbin-clue doesn't ring a bell...or was it where...oh, I've to rewatch it...

Naaznin, is it the dustbin where one finds the photos? If you say "yes", I don't have to look for it. 😉

Yes half burnt photos are in dustbin so police can find😆

I still am hesitant about Ittefaq as there isn't "A friend who cheats his friend." (which is in Blackmail). Or would you say that the lawyer's wife became a friend to the writer because she let him in?

Yes, it could also be - very well indeed - this Ittefaq. So already two possibilities....

Maybe there are even other Hindi movies which match to the plot described here.
