Since the release of blockbuster 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', people have been debating for more than 24 years whether Kajol's character, Anjali, should have chosen Salman Khan's Aman instead of Shah Rukh Khan's Rahul.

After decades, the lead actress from the Karan Johar directorial has shared her two bits on the matter. The 48-year-old actress said as Anjali, if given a choice, she would have actually gone with Aman instead of Rahul at the end of the film.

In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Kajol shared that on script level, she would have gone with Salman's character.

"On script level, maybe I would have gone with Salman's character, but in the film, if you watch the film, there is no choice about the ending, it has to be the way it is," the actress said.

The film, which also starred Rani Mukerji as Tina, tells the story of Rahul and Anjali, who was secretly in love with her best-friend during their college years but he had eyes only for Tina. In 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', during college time, Kajol was shown as a short haired tomboy girl, while Tina was portrayed as a modern, feminine girl. Years later, Tina and Rahul's eight-year-old daughter tries to reunite her father with Anjali after her mother passes away.

Many have started to debate the transition of Kajol from a carefree, tomboy girl to a saree-wearing delicate lady who once used to be a pro at basketball, suddenly forgot how to play the game once she donned a saree.

"“My version of Anjali would never be wearing a saree. She would be wearing those track pants and fab, expensive sneakers with it and make that look good," Kajol said during the interview.

Meanwhile, in 2019, Johar had accepted and said that 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' was the most politically incorrect film.

Let me guess! Anjali who has intense passionate feelings for Rahul can she move on with Aman? Even though she was engaged with Aman she was still deeply in love with Rahul. If she chooses Aman but still harbour feelings for Rahul its unfair for a sweet guy like Aman and its also tag as emotional cheating as per narrative

As per real life situation,first love is not always last love and you can fall in love after marriage too. Life moves on so even if it was me i would have choosen Aman whom my parents chose furthermore the guy respects and in love with me. My first love will be in my heart always as that man taught me to fall in love and will remain special in my heart but that space for him will be locked in my heart. I will lock the feelings of first love forever and remain loyal to Aman and work towards falling in love with him sincerely and make the marriage work

In the movie,Anjali is a person who believes first love is last love. She left her fate in the hands of destiny and got engaged but she never loved Aman nor will like the way she loves Rahul. The passionate dance was proof enough she never moved on,she only compromise. A marriage can never be fill with happiness if its based on compromise

I hate that Karan and everyone associated with the movie is disowning KKHH, one of the best Dharma product, due to social media pressure.

Anjali and Rahul makes sense on all levels. Rahul didn’t fall for her looking at her in saree. That’s the most dumbest interpretation.
