That's what I think since a while...that some movies are just 'used' to launder money (not caring at all for the Hindi filmindustry or any stars)...and I also think that it isn't the 'underworld' who is doing it...and not all production houses are doing it.
I often have wondered, what, e.g., happened with the tonnes of drugs found on the ships in Adani's port(s)... or in lorries...or in basements...
This movie with an initial budget of 80 cr (which would make it a successful movie with the money still coming in) may become a flop now because the production house declares a budget of more than the double!!! (hinting - in addition - at an enormous fee given to Ranbir). Doesn't THAT sounds fishy???
It could be interesting to make a study about some other movies... and reflecting on who would have an interest in damaging the Hindi filmindustry while still making money out of the 'failures'.
Good points made!
Moreover, isn’t it old knowledge that producers/ investors launder money through BW from a long time ago?
That aside, Ranbir’s fee being 50 Cr is an unbelievable notion. His last BB is Sanju that too released pre-pandemic. Films, small & big budgeted ones alike , are tanking left right and centre.
This is a simple BW romcom hero’s role and not a biopic that he would need hours of prosthetics & studying a particular person’s mannerism. Had he charged that for Sanju, I would have still understood but not for TJMM!
Which producer is out of their goddamn mind to agree to 50 cr to an actor who has sketchy career graph and can’t guarantee success regardless of how well he acts. Money is not that cheap 😂
Doesn’t it hurt Luv’s career graph as well if he has a big budgeted flop when he has a steady reputation of delivering hits?
Something is amiss in this whole scenario
