ishan is sctually good to watch, he needs a proper chance in Bollywood.

I just finished watching The Royals. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Granted it was a fluffy show and the writers did not delve deeper into the characters and explore the nuances of the characters or the depth but I felt like it was crafted in quite an enjoyable way. I loved the music, the dances, (except for Bhumi’s dancing and choreographing the outdoor dance—I’ll blame the choreography more since I didn’t think the outdoor dance matched the music or the vibe), the chemistry between the leads, banters between the family members and the beautiful sets.

ISHAAN KHATTER is such an incredible revelation as Aviraaj. He was charismatic and charming in this role. I also LOVED his dance with Nora, chemistry with Bhumi and his natural swag. This is my first time seeing him in a full fledged role, the only other show I’ve seen him in was the Perfect Couple but he had a minor role in it. And I’m quite impressed, especially given the current crop of young actors, he stands out as not only a good actor but good looking, charismatic and a good dancer. I’m looking forward to seeing more work from him.

Bhumi, I liked her but I feel like she could’ve added more nuance in her performances. She looked good but not sure why the costume designer was obsessed with dressing her in white. I really liked her chemistry with Ishaan.

As for the supporting cast, I liked Digvijay’s journey. I think Vihaan did a good job. I wished Sakshi’s character had been explored more. I also think Jinnie’s exploration of sexuality and coming out could’ve been dealt with more sensitivity than just rushing her story and romance.

I think the writers could have developed Sophia and Aviraaj’s love story more and also done a better job of explaining what happened in his previous relationship.

Despite its flaws, I think I enjoyed this so much because I miss Bollywood romances where the leads can actually act well and have good natural chemistry. I don’t even think they needed as many sensual/make out scenes as they had because the chemistry was present without it. My favorite scenes of Sophia and Fizzy were when they weren’t even touching, like the terrace scene or the stable scene.

Actually honestly I don't know why people are shitting on Bhumi's acting. I think her acting was fine just her lips were actually distracting. Overall their chemistry was a hit and miss for me at times but overall was present mainly due to Ishaan I feel he was so charming as the arrogant prince with so much turmoil in his head. Although Bhumi's wardrobe could have been better clothes weren't fitting well or the silhouette just didn't suit her. But I enjoyed the characters and its meant to be a frivolous shows..I hope the negative reviews and trolling on insta doesn't deter a season 2
