It’s sooo heartwarming to hear success stories like this

Rajamouli at one point lived in a crammed room with his entire extended family of dozens living off MM keeravani’s income(composer of baahubali, rrr, jism etc)

Now his journey is so inspiring ….he didn’t even know proper English but to see him learn and communicate beautifully in all these round tables and with the foreign press is so lovely

More power to people like him ❤️❤️

Isn't he a nepo kid?

Technically yes

Mm keeravani was the only one earning in their family tho …and he’s a composer so he dosent get paid abundantly especially during the 90s when he was just becoming successful

Mm keeravani and rajamouli are cousins so their entire extended fam including kids were financially dependent on keeravani…(there are abt 12-13 members in their household I think)

.rajamouli earnt by directing telugu tv serials, and assisting other directors but understandably that wasn’t much income

^ Vijayendra Prasad family was not as rich as say Allu or even Mohanbabu but they were never dependent on Keeravani. They are distant relatives of K.Raghavendra Rao so Vijayendra Prasad always had work in the industry..also they have extended family working as technicians in various fields of cinema so weren't really a struggle story!

Rajamouli himself said they were all dependent on keeravani at one point …a writers salary is low even in todays day, so I can imagine what sort of income vijayendra prasad got in the 90s, particularly when his works were few and far between for about a decade until he started writing for rajamouli in the late 90s

The other people in his household who are technicians are his wife Rama (who only started costume designing for rajamoulis films) , sister in law Valli (who only started line production for rajamouli films), their son karthikeya (again started and only worked in rajamoulis films

) and kala Bhairaa (who is just about now becoming a singer post the success story of rajamouli)

All the technicians started working as technicians after rajamouli became a hit …they weren’t established names that he used their clout to get work …

Like I said they weren't Richie rich but they weren't exactly poor either they were upper middle class always. Rajamouli exaggerated when he said they all lived off Keeravani. I am saying this coz my family knew theirs from a long time. But it's true that for major part of their lives they lived in a joint family. Keeravani's father was a writer too assisted many biggies and had a really good reputation and goodwill which later helped his family.

Rajamouli himself told that they were living in a small house and were dependent on Keeravani. Keeravani was at that time wasn't an independent music director and he was just making enough to support the family.

Vijayendra Prasad may be a big name now but even his income was very little

Raghavender Rao took Rajamouli as his assistant and he started off by directing TV serials under Raghavender Rao's supervision.

S S Rajamouli did come up the hard way.

The no show in screenplay and technical categories is going to hurt it's picture and director nomination chances. But Naatu Naatu has to get a nomination at this point at Oscars.

I dont get the hype around this movie... naatu naatu song is strictly ok. And the visual effects that they talk about, while great on their own, seemed WAY too fake in the movie imo. Especially the animals scene. I though that bahubali's visual effects were better.
