Ugh Atleast Alia can act . Nobody will offer those movies to plastic queen. Karan Johar isn't entire Bollywood.

The first thing that came to my mind when I read this. I don’t quite disagree but like Aishwarya said, ‘ Alia made very good use of those opportunities’. I really wish the interviewer had asked her the same about her pati dev. I love Ash but this was very hypocritical of her. Ghar baitha insaan sabse bada example hai of what she’s directly /indirectly accusing Alia of and she had the gall to say this. 😆 I’m embarrassed for her here.

ETA - And now I read she got someone from PS 1 to make a film with him . Unbelievable . She’ll get massively trolled for this if Alia fans dig this up later 😆

Aditya Narayan is a pretty good singer but barely singing, just hosting reality shows (not talking about him as a person)

Shankar Mahadevan's son, I have only heard 1 song of his

&

There are many more names.

I like Jr Bachaan, he is not the best but a good actor who if took better scripts would have done better. Also if he won't be Amitabh Bachaan's son could have been a bigger name.

Agreed. Abhishek is actually a decent actor but constant comparisons with his father haven’t really helped his career and tbh, he looks quite lallu onscreen 😆

He himself tries to emulate his father all the time. Way of speaking , walking , everything. He never came out of his fathers shadow unlike Ranbir Kapoor who also had a successful father. Not that it would have made a lot of difference because he’s still unbearable on screen but at least the comparisons would have been less.

Yeah could be. I won’t say he is a bad actor per se, but yes being Amitabh’s Bachchan son people might have expected a lot from him which of course he failed to deliver. You gotta have some personality and charm of your own too, he lacks there, I mean he sure is somewhat talented but he doesn’t have the “it” factor so it’s not enough.

Acting talent is simply not enough . Salman has none of it but boy does he ooze charisma and charm onscreen ! Sadly Jr has none.

When AB started out he was like Fardeen /Zayed level only with Bachchan tag. 20 flops and a Mani film later, people started calling him underrated. It’s like when an industry insider finally gives an average performance, the industry starts saying “ Hume toh pehle se pata tha ye lambi race ka ghoda hai “. There was actually an article along similar lines with some writer saying this and later adding “ pata nahi ye race shuru kab hogi “ 😆

same is happening with Bobby Deol now, after Aashram. Earlier no one gave a rats ass about him and now suddenly he’s everywhere basking in his newly found fame. OTT has given a new lease of life to these flop actors.
Brace yourself . I hear Fardeen is also coming back.

Bobby started out good but fizzled in between. Having super successful fathers doesn’t really help in a way either because constant comparisons are bound to happen, especially if you aren’t good enough. Oh I actually liked him in “Aashram” though, thought he did a good job there 😆 Don’t know about Fardeen, he has been missing from action since a long time 🧐 Though I found him good looking and somewhat charming in his heydays, can’t say the same for Zayed Khan, he was always a joke from the start 😆

Ash knows what backing means. And has seen what her husband also gets till date. What makes people think she took a dig at only Alia?

Her words on backing and support are spot on. She herself used same to try and back her husband. It is another matter it did not work.

I do not understand sympathy for Abhishek. Abhishek NEVER had it in him to be a commercial actor. He is not even an artsy type or else he would do well like Manoj Bajpai, Nawaz, Pankaj, Om, Naseer etc.

Abhishek is an average actor made to seem good if director is good. He never focused on his looks or health. He has bad script sense. He copies his dad all the time. He sticks to family all time and never tried to step out of their shadow unlike Ranbir who carved own niche and soon learnt from early flops that copying any senior Kapoor would be a bad idea. Ranbir was also smart to keep quiet when his dad fought with others on his behalf. Abhishek NEVER ever tried to update himself or step way from shadow of family or choose good scripts as per latest trend. Nor worked on his body and still laughs hamara family pack hai.

Enough of his fans blaming his dad or rivals like Hrithik or comparisons for his failures.

Though I know Amitabh being so huge and so relevant even in old age made it harder to escape comparisons but still Abhishek on his own too, lacks charisma. He has no screen presence. He never even changed his style. His dialogue delivery is sub par.

Even Sunny Deol had a hugely charismatic and famous dad but he carved his own niche despite never having looks or endearing charisma of his dad.

Akshaye Khanna also did well for a while despite not being as handsome as Vinod Khanna.

Abhishek just does not have it. I think he would be better suited to other profession and is forced to act.

Fardeen was genuinely very good looking and extremely charming too. Pathetic actor and dancing skills. He rightfully disappeared.
Comparisons are inevitable. But the benefits far far faaar outweigh the few cons. So I can never sympathise with these flop laadla star sons.
I really hope SRK doesn’t start over promoting his kids like AB Sr. I will be mad . I don’t want him getting bashed like AB Sr does. There is an extent to which parents should interfere in their children’s personal and professional lives.
Re : Bobby . Like I said earlier, a zillion chances and a good director later people start hailing you as an underrated under-utilised actor. He was horrible in his hey days. Even in Aashram , Chandan Roy Sanyal ate him up. But because he ain’t no star son, no one is fawning over him.
