From 19thAug'21 to 11thAug22...1 single year..this guy has given 4 DISASTERS..with 3 back to back DISASTERS in 5 months..yes 5 months..

Ironically he gave 4 back to back superhits in 2019..but things have turned the worst for him post pandemic..if anyone told me this would be Akshay's BO record in 2019..i would have never believed then..

Rakshabandan is less than 100 cr budget because Akshay didn't take his normal fees (his sister is producing the project with Anand L Rai). It might be a flop, and maybe survive in OTT but definitely not as bad as Bellbottom, Prithviraj + Bachchan Pandey. It will come close to recovering its cost.

A lot of people liked it but I found it regressive.

2 hits for every ten flops is hardly a ratio to brag about. Akshay’s strategy worked for a while but now he’s going through some of the same issues the Khans are going through like getting older, and it’s getting creepy watching him romancing 20 somethings. He’s churning out movies every few months and saturating the market with Akshay Kumar films. He’s at that stage where the public is ready to push him out of lead roles and these back to back flops are not helping his cause. He got severely trolled for the 40 days comment for Prithviraj. He’s constantly trolled as Canadian Kumar. He’ll always be rich and famous but his stardom is on shaky grounds for now.

Not denying any of that. All I'm saying is his strategy works because people forget the flop films quickly as long as you have a couple of hit films to make up for it. But if you only have flop films, then that doesn't bode well for you. Aamir hasn't had a hit in 6 years. Shahrukh hasn't had a hit in 9 years. Salman hasn't had a hit in 4/5 years. Whereas Akshay is in a relatively much better position than them.

Meh 🫤. I’m really not sure he is. I’m not sure people will forget about the flops if his next is a hit. If his next few are hits then YES, but one hit is not enough. That’s because his movies are too many and too close to each other and it causes some memory overlap for the audience. On the other hand if any of the Khans’ next is a hit they’re back on top because their last flop would have been at least a year ago (Salman’s case).

There’s also the issue of the Khans having a more solid base because their stardoms were always bigger than Akshay’s. So they have a more solid cushioning here compared to Akshay IMO. Their big successes are grand and more memorable than Akshay’s successes. Akshay’s biggest hit is Good Newz. SRK’s is Chennai Express. Salman’s is Tiger Zinda Hai. Aamir’s is Dangal.

Bell bottom was wonderful movie... i thoroughly enjoyed it. RakshaBandhan is a good movie....👍🏼

If we do talk about prejudice, i guess then people wouldnt have watched it yet.. besides, prithviraj chauhan cannot b really made to like.. its history. Many people enjoy fictional tales like jodha akbar coz ofcourse theirs lots of fictional masala to b liked there..

I think the last superstar of Indian cinema was Amitabh Bachchan. The cult and mass hysteria of the 70s and 80s still to beat.

The Khan's, Akshay and Ajay are stars but none have enjoyed Anitabh's phenomena.

Aamir stardom rose as the cute boy and then became more about giving different kinds of cinema to the audience but not much from masses. His stardom was more of different movies that can be watched

SRK was all about NRIs and more from women and family. A quintessential romantic hero. The masses and interiors not so much.

Salman in the beginning was more of family and comedy and then post Dabang became the darling of the masses because of the swag and larger than life characters. With global and families not so much.

Ajay and Akshay dependent on movies had massive hits and flops also had the whole masculine action and aura.

Now all of them are in their 50s so nobody wants to see them romance young heroines or do too larger than life unless helmed by a Rohit Shetty.

All of them should stick to good content, then they will do well

Even Amitabh who cut across all classes and masses had to change and adapt so good if they can do it too

All 50+ actors should either start playing supporting roles like Amitabh in Mohabbatein or retire gracefully. Audience are sick of them not acting their age and romancing women young enough to be their daughters

He knows he is going to be out of roles in few years so doing back to back movies n making good bank balance for his kids.

Young actors movies r also getting flop but old actors romancing actresses in their 20s is big cringe. Now they look like senior citizens n sugar daddy 🤣
