The biggest star of the 90's were none of the 3 Khans.Their stans can keep repeating the same thing over and over the fact won't change that they were secondary to Sridevi and Madhuri.

There is a reason why Madhuri was paid more than them in blockbusters like HAHK and DTPH.

SRK had a string of flops before YRF bailed him out with DTPH.

SRK-Salman, Sunny, Aamir, Govinda, Anil were biggest male stars of 90s. Sanjay was coming up but jail ruined his peak.

Sunny clashed with Khans many times and either beat them or did equally well and that too without PR or media.

SRK is only hyped more thanks to PR and media, buying awards and PR of Dharma and YRF also who pretend their hits are bigger though their films never had huge impact as Barjatya films or mass appeal like Border and Gadar or uniqueness like Oscar nominated Lagaan.

Rajshris and others never hyped self or tom tommed own achievements whereas even flops of Chopras like Lamhe are hyped as some classics now despite borderline incestous theme.

Sunny had signed first Darr, followed by Juhi. Such was SRK's stardom that Yash Chopra didn't rope him first for the film but approached several actors for the role before him.🤪

Even Rahul Roy was a bigger star than him at that time.

DDLJ opened to poor numbers. WOM and it's music carried it. SRK had a string of flops after DDLJ before Yash Chopra bailed him out with DTPH with Madhuri and Karishma.
