Who knows? Asexual people do marry. They simply don't feel sexual attraction or interest in sex. Some do fall in love and seek romantic relationships. Laws and rules that apply to two people simply cannot apply to one person. It is the same reason why 3 or more people who may have ceremonially married don't have the same rights either (in nations where marriage is between two people).

For me, the purpose of being single is to reject the traditional notion that people, especially women must be married to lead fulfilled lives and be fully embedded in society. It is an intentional rebellion against traditions and rituals reserved for couples. So the idea of marrying oneself is absurd to me. But whatever floats people's boats.

U r right there is no point in getting married to oneself. Ppl can be their best friend love themselves, talk to themselves but nothing changes even if u r not married to urself.

It might be a trick to get famous or different ppl think differently.
