RIP .
I keep on hearing about security being withdrawn ,why did he as a private citizen need security paid for by taxpayer money.
Was he not able to afford his own security.
Really?? I mean, let's ignore the ignorance for a second. And focus on the fact that you seem to have
some issue of contention with a
so-called "private citizen" being afforded
security which would have saved his god damn life?? but at the expense of
taxpayer's money??So hmm, if you have a moment, I'd love to hear those things you think money should be spent on if not protecting life itself.
And by the way, he is not a private citizen.
He is an official politician.
As well as a culturally significant and globally influential musician.
And by law politicians are bestowed with certain security privileges, it's part of the job anyway, and it's supposed to be risk-assessed so obviously if there's some issue or controversy, the person at risk's security is usually bumped up.
So it's baffling that at this moment in time when he is at his peak and climbing the government instead of increasing they REMOVED most of his security allocation AND ADVERTISED IT ONLINE (the list of people affected was LEAKED) which further put him at increased danger. The whole thing is just so so nasty and grim. I am typing this and my arms feel so weighty. I feel abhorred by the human race right now.
And there's more.
He is someone who was on the cusp of possibly being a major major player in numerous positive changes for millions of citizens because of his new role as well as the already MASSIVE following he has gained in less than 5 years since he put out his first track.
The position he was in was actually more significant than I think many people even realise. But we will definitely see the consequences now. People are going to be very enraged about how this whole thing played out. It's a huge injustice. The man was the VOICE of the PEOPLE. He had the kind of adulation and reach that very few famous people attain.
To put it briefly, his murder signifies the triumph of evil over goodness. There is a much wider impact upon society because of what he represented and attained. There could very well be riots and protests. Because I am pretty sure the police are going to continue to F up their already shoddy investigation - watching the press briefing was triggering.
Globally: Who was the last person to put an Indian music genre on the world map? Maybe AR Rahman 2 decades ago, but Sidhu was only just beginning, plus Rahman didn't have the cultural significance nor the political voice.
Then there's the momentum he was on, it's wild, right on the verge of really becoming an enormous force globally. And his LYRICS are what makes him so iconic and idolised. There is a reason why 'Voice of a Generation' is used so rarely, it takes a whole lot of talent, personality and inner strength to even attempt it, not many do, he took the risk, voiced his opinions on CORRUPTION, unfair treatment, and although we don't know yet who was behind this exactly, it's obvious that he had to be taken out, so it may well have been a collaborative effort.
Anyway, here's a song about his mama
