Lemme get this straight -- you initially liked him but he didn't show interest, and instead turned around and condescendingly asked you to date others instead? I wish you had stopped him right there to mind his own business cuz he wasn't entitled at all to be telling you what to do next -- he is not anyone's dad to be interfering in your life. It's up to you and you alone to decide who to date, or if at all for that matter -- and you owe zero explanation to the world, him included.

Gay, which once meant cheerful and carefree (was used a lot in Old B&W HW movies), has replaced homosexuals now...

it was used as an insult back when I was in high school and college, very freely, and is still a slur if you're using it for wrong reasons, though people get pulled up on it quickly now .... and it shouldn't be used unless you're using the word to describe an actual gay person in a neutral way. I think that's where we're at.

"That's so gay" used to get thrown around all the time for anything and everything kids found lame or disliked back in high school from what I remember. 🤷‍♀️

Not sure how it is now cuz heaven knows I haven't set my foot in a US high school in over a decade. Those kids weren't necessarily homophobic, it was just a really common slang. I do remember teachers with zero tolerance policy but that didn't help much cuz they were flinging it out there at the drop of a hat outside classrooms regardless. I'm guessing they're more mindful about it at nowadays with the shift in language from then to now ... hopefully anyway.

Somebody on this forum once asked me if I was gay because I don't make lewd remarks about actresses 😆
