Two extremes of bad acting. One doesn't change her bland cold expression even if she's pricked with a needle in the bum. The other one wears too many expressions except for the ones needed and ruins the scene.

Aishwarya Rai anyday. She is naturally beautiful, knows Indian languages fluently, dances more gracefully especially in Indian classical dances and is a better actor than Katrina for sure.

Katrina is the first one to become a superstar without knowing either acting or language. She has more hits than Ash but nowhere any talent of any sort. She is prime example of how far fair skin and hot body can take you even if you have no talent.

Tbh, many (almost all?) actresses have fair skin AND hot bodies. But nobody can be a Katrina

She's like bhai - no acting / dancing / big directors / storylines / good movies etc needed and yet be a star, with a fan following!

But atleast Bhai and other actresses know basic Hindi. Katrina still cannot speak Hindi and has a weird firang accent. Still a success. Unbelievable how fair skin fetish can make someone a star and keep her in business for so long.

Honestly audience has no taste now. Too easy for anyone to succeed now if they have fair skin and do skin show. Saira Banu would have been mega star today given her fair skin and willingness to do scenes only in a towel. She was success in 60s too but never had kind of fandom Kat enjoys since last 16 years. Atleast Saira had better language skills.

Kat is the most curious success I have ever seen in any industry in Indian cinema.

I mean i agree but it cannot all be attributed to fair skin fetish..there are so many fair looking girls around..anushka and kareena are fairer than katrina and katrina herself is three shades darker now than when she started..

I guess more than fair skin..katrina had an insane combination of cuteness and sex appeal which really struck a chord..the face she had from debut till 2011..wow! and she used it to the fullest to make a household name for herself which happened by 2008/09..her face was so beautiful that i remember critics saying the camera loves katrina kaif for movies like singh is king where her acting was just horrid. So she got away with all the bad acting thanks to the face which was not just fair..but beautiful! Had she ruined her face earlier..doubt she would be where she landed..now the audience have accepted her so openly that even botched procedures are not coming in her way..she is a real success story..and a curios one indeed!
