I am amazed how FOR GRANTED "older-actor + younger actress" pairings are taken in general, and how NORMALIZED ageism faced by female actors is.🤔

Like we are just supposed to accept these pairings because it is just the way it is. Take it or leave it.🤓

OK I am confused.....what are you guys against.?? Is it age gap in pairing of actors....or is people not accepting older woman with a younger man while vice versa is acceptable?

So if the latter was also acceptable you wouldn't have a problem with an older man and younger woman pairing??

again...we as a society are responsible for older woman and younger man being a taboo....it is not the movies...they show us what we as a society decide is good or bad....a husband should be older than wife....is a societal norm.....change it...who is stopping it....but the way to change is not to make an older man and young woman pairing a taboo....decide toh karo....ki what is it exactly that you want...😆

This is how IF reacted during Filhall.

Those who don't approve age gap, didn't approve, and those who are okay with it, were okay with it.

And why Salman gets trolled the most of all bollywood actors outside of IF, in social media is because he alongside Kjo is seen as a person who is flag bearer of nepotism and a person who destroyed career of other people. Hence he gets so much hatred and ridicule. So whatever he does, he gets trolled, because people know, trolling Sallu gives them more views and likes.

Yes. Akshay, Salman etc don't even the look the part anymore. They've started using CGI now to hide their age.

Now where are those people who had problem with Taapse/Bhumi playing older women in Saand Ki Aankh?

Wo acting nahi thi??

I don't really care what age any actor is as long as it looks believable. Taapse and Bhumi looked ridiculous as grandmas. The make-up and body language was pathetic. Their acting didn't make them look old enough either. They should have at least gotten Madhuri and Juhi types and aged them. It needed a flabbier body, weaker stance, and a gruffer older voice. Bhumi and Taapse sucked and it looked really fake.

Same problem with Akshay and Salman playing 20 year olds now. Even the CGI doesn't look real. In Radhe you could see close-ups where Salman is clearly balding. There is so much space between each hair plug even though they've blow dried the hair to make it look as puffy as possible. The fake muscles are very visible because the body looks fat and flabby. The face is sagging a lot although the wrinkles have been wiped. It's just not believable. He still looks really old in spite of all the CGI. The CGI just looks funny, not real.

Unacceptable.. Salman kare ya Akshay ya Rajnikant. Unless its a demand of the story ...2 decades age difference shouldn't be normalised.

It's a movie with a fictional story. It's just acting and as long as they look fine onscreen, its okay.

Rakhee has played Anitabh's love interest, mother and Bhabhi during the same span of time. It's didnt affect audience acceptance of her.

Real life relationships are bothersome as there is exploitation and abuse.

This ageism problem especially when it comes to older woman and younger man acting is everywhere usually found in Asian countries. They find its okay for older man and younger woman no matter how big the age gap is.

Yes, its problematic not only off screen but also on screen paring. Yes, its high time Akshay, Salman and all their similar aged actors started doing roles which are mature and stop romancing girls which are their kids age.

I agree with you on this.

Under the pretext of 'age difference' the older partner is invariably age-shamed quite a lot.

Yes, it happens mostly for girls than boys, and is rather skewed in favor of men. But that doesn't justify slamming the older partner if its a male.

So much is our fixation on this topic that I've seen couples irl (online) attacked viciously just because the guy was 10 years older than the girl. Forget the guy, even the girl was thrown under the bus (she's stupid, gullible, brainwashed, has daddy issues, and what not).
