Just found out that Shraddha Kapoor was offered the lead role in Lucky: No Time For Love (2005) opposite Salman Khan.

She was offered the film in early 2004 when she was just 16 years old. She eventually debuted in Teen Patti (2010) at the age of 23. But had her major breakthrough with Aashiqui 2 (2013) - almost a decade after her initial potential debut.

The role eventually went to Sneha Ullal - who resembled Aishwarya Rai.

Side note: In the past, Deepika Padukone has mentioned that she was offered a film with Salman Khan around this time (2005-2006) - I've always thought it was this one too, but no confirmation as yet.

Thank goodness she rejected. She was 16 and he would've been close to 40, right? 😕

That movie made me super uncomfortable with Sneha too, though.

Sneha was like 17 or something too and it was obvious. When it comes to age differences, Salman has got to be the worst offender. Actually, Rajnikanth might be the worst offender.

Actresses now debut at a more digestible age otherwise they used to debut earlier, many at 15. Sri Devi was freaking 13 in her first lead role🤢. Divya Bharti at 16. Kajol and Rani were 18 otherwise Kajol's contemporary should've been Hrithik not SRK.

Corrections:

- Shraddha Kapoor is 9 months older than Sneha Ullal (both born in 1987). So Sneha was also 16 when she signed the film.

- Divya Bharti was signing films and shooting at 14.

- Kajol and Karisma were also 14/15 when they signed their first films.

- Sridevi was 12 years old when she signed and shot for her first "adult" role" > 1976 film Moondru Mudichu, the synopsis "The film revolves around an 18-year-old girl and two roommates who fall in love with her." Co-starring Kamal Haasan and Rajnikanth. Yiiiikes.

She was born in 1987.

Because it took her quite a few years to have her "breakthrough" when she finally got recognised in 2013 with Aashiqui 2, her team decided to switch her birth year to 1992. This was to match the other hot newbie at the time, Alia Bhatt (1993 born).

But I noticed this and so did a few others, and then her team gave up and reverted back to 1987 after a minor backlash.
