Alia's acting in Gangubai teaser - Page 4

The Alia of Highway..Udta..DZ..Raazi..GB who got lost in Kalank and Sadak is BACK..superb acting..superb body language..superb dialogue delivery..She will never get her due on this forum though..but comparing her to the likes of janhvi and sara can only happen on IF!

Good enough but I'll wait for the trailer for now to pass an opinion

She did a very good job... and looked sooo damn good!

It's funny because I wasn't blown away by the teaser EEEK

But that was also my first impression when I saw the Udta Punjab promo clips. It wasn't until the whole film that I bought her act in it.

She's acted fine enough of course, for me. No complaints. But am I blown away as a fan? Nope.

Gimme more!!

Also: to the people saying "oh she's not menacing enough" - How do you know the level of menace required for the role? Did you read the script? You are just projecting your own ideas of what this character should be. It's not Mardaani 3, so you can stop dreaming about Rani Mukerji doing it years ago. This is Queen Gangu.

She doesn't look perfect for the role.

I actually like Alia's acting but for some reason, I am not feeling this one. The setting and get up is fantastic as usual by SLB but I can sort of see that she's acting and that fails the whole purpsoe.

She looks stunning in many of the frames but the feel is not there, there is something lacking. Experience?

I hope I'm wrong and movie is better. Often trailers and teasers dont give the full picture.

She was really good in the teaser and going by the comments and likes ..gp seems to like the teaser well . IF will be IF though 😂

Long time no see Silver.

I know what you're saying. There has to be a certain type of harshness on her face after all the experiences the character has gone thru.

Maybe since Alia's lived a very protective life and still has her comfort zone? No struggle at all, she's still like a child in many ways...so that coldness doesn't come thru.

Last night I was thinking if this film was made 15 years ago then Vidya Balan would've nailed it.

That's a good observation. I also feel that she looks too young for this role. I actually like Alia so I'm not being mean or anything, just what I feel. It simply feels unnatural to me, like Alia is trying her best to be different and fit into SLB world.

But then again, teasers and trailers do tend to be different to the actual movie so maybe she'll surprise me who knows.

Vidhya and PC would have nailed this completely. Would have loved to see PC more, she has this confidence that even Vidhya doesn't have.

Despite having the best of projects and great roles still something is missing in her as an actress.In some bits she looks too conscious and inhibited.
