You can't tell them to "get on" with life. People process grief in their own time. You can only provide support and sometimes even that's not enough (Madhuri in Devdas).

I get that some people take more time than others to heal and move on, but people eventually do move on over time at least in real lives. You only have one life, after all. I was talking about love in the movie's context more than anything else. If someone fixates on something to the point of grounding their life to a halt, it's obviously a problem and they probably need help. Devdas was a stupid character, and I'm no fan of that either. All I'm trying to say is that SRK in ADHM is not even grieving, he is in love with her and acting like he has the whole loaf of love when it's not even close. Ash is his ex-wife and clearly doesn't feel the same way about him anymore and is sleeping with Ranbir. So him acting like an aashiq and reciting shayari's on her didn't go down well with me. Romanticizing unrequited love and obsession has been a recurring theme in Bollywood movies and I wish they stopped doing that cuz there is nothing pleasant or romantic about it.

The entire movie was absurd.. it would have worked in 90s I guess.. Sacha pehla pyar and shit😆

Completely agree👍🏼

In fact, unrequited love is the most painful feeling in the world. My best friend is going through that phase and I can't tell you how horrible it is for us to witness her like that. The person themselves are going through hell.

She totally was. Karan wrote her almost like belonged in a film of her own and her chapter with Ayan intersecting.

It was great to see a woman so self-aware and having absolute agency of her life.
