It was annoying when bachans family denied the rumours.

good for them....why do I have feeling this news has something to do with Guru.....nwo there'll be another tsunami of articles relating to their boring love story! Bollywood heartthrob Aishwarya Rai and actor Abhishek Bachchan got engaged on Sunday at a quiet ceremony.

This sets the stage for the marriage of the film industry's most talked-about couple.

The engagement between Abhishek, who turns 31 on February 5, and 33-year-old Aishwarya, was held at the Bachchan residence in suburban Juhu.

The event was attended by family members and close friends of the Bachchan and Rai families.

Aishwarya and Abhishek were in New York recently for the promotion of their film Guru, directed by Mani Ratnam.
