Yes because biopics are fictitious and dramatized version of an actual person.

U take permission from a subject to make a movie and take creative liberties with their story. U dont take permission from the people involved in the story. Their family, friends, colleagues.. All r shown ya? According to ur free will?

Exactly.

And not just indian forces, every single country has these same problems in their defence forces.

Its a documented phenomenon - from discrimination to even outright assault.

But in most of the countries the defence forces are considered beyond reproach and most of them are not even subject to civilian law so these things don't get publicity

Did it happen to gunjan or not is a question. But is it really beyond belief that these things were common??

Hell you'll find the same attitude in modern corporate India of 2020

Because Armed forces need to be protected and respected. Each n every country does that and must do that.. Including citizens.

Its only in India that one can get away by portraying them in a flimsy way.. In the name of creative freedom, freedom of expression and what not.. Forgetting that they deserve the credit for the very freedom u enjoy.

And again.. M not saying she didnt face it.. Till Gunjan and the other woman joined it was n all Men's organisation.. Was suited to their way of living. It changed over due course ya? Thats the beauty.. That we evolve and change.

People who want to remain stuck in that mindset will never progress and wont be able to see progress.. Their loss

Yes you do, obviously IAF gave permission otherwise they couldn't have shown anything with real names in the film. They would've fictionalized all station names and the IAF due to legal issues if they didn't have permission. It's a very strict procedure while making a biopic on anything related to the armed forces, atleast a film releasing in theatres. The censor board too is equally strict.

That's the point. Why are they talking now when like you said the film was already being promoted as the one with the first female pilot going to war and was being attributed to Gunjan Saxena alone? I mean the first poster of the film came almost a year ago. Even a small Facebook post by Sreevidya clearing that she too went to war and not Gunjan alone right when the film was announced would've cleared things out right? Leave the film, even before anyone knew about such a film was being made, every single article only mentioned Gunjan. Either Sreevidya or Namrit should've talked about it being unfair even then right? Like tina said, she couldn't find a single article about Sreevidya on the internet, how is that the makers fault that Sreevidya refused to comment about this misconception because she believed in gender equality back then? And if she didn't find it important clearing this misconception back then, why is she clearing it now?

One wouldn't have to watch the film to realize that it is only the biopic of Gunjan right and not Vidya?

So they gave permission to showcase the story of their brave hero and now they showed their displeasure in their own portrayal in her story. They informed the makers to remove it..makers puts a disclaimer instead. Its not acceptable to them..they have every right to do so..Fair enough?

During our republic/ Independence Day celebration in fancy dress competition

Our teacher was making the girls

Laxmi bai, sarojni naidu, kalpna chawla, kiran bedi etc

She also suggested gunjan saxena and since we didn't know who she was. We asked her
