Cheesedumplings, first of all, a big hug to you smiley31for sharing this smiley27 A very good post smiley27

Thanks for sharing your views. I haven't watched Thappad yet, so, can't comment on the movie and characters.

Already, people have given you some very good advices. I don't know what to say .

Don't dishearten yourself. Just be yourself like people said above. Self respect matters as well sometimes going with the flow seems right but not at the cost of losing yourself. Not everyone is perfect, you learn from your experiences. We can't make everyone happy. That's what it is. Some things are not in our hands and we can't change them, things which are in our hands ,we can change them for the better. What we can do is, try putting our efforts, be it in anything, so that, we don't feel that we didn't try, but we should also know when to stop, by pleasing others, or try making others happy, it's very important we don't lose ourselves, as it's our life and what we can do is make ourselves better, those who really care about us, they will understand us. Even if they don't, what matters is our intention. If our intention is good, then, it shouldn't matter what others think of us.

And there is nothing wrong in standing up for your rights and for yourself. ♥♥

Hugs 🤗

You just need to have a career and marry a guy who prefers someone who is career oriented. Things balance out at home itself, but do not compromise on Respect which is why you need to get to know the guy well enough before u marry him.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as getting to know well enough before. Unless you start living together, there is no way to find out the reality. True story!

Even though men behave entitled, mostly because of the generations of that kind of upbringing, the men of today- at least a lot many of them, are teachable and are trying their best to stand with the women in their lives. Happy to acknowledge that I have the good fortune of meeting some of these exceptional men.

True it will be somewhat of a gamble in arranged situation but taking things slow, asking the right questions, discussing future plans and the most imp look at the family it can sonewhat give you an idea.

Honestly almost entire asian society is like that

Men take care of outside work like bringing grocery or paying bills etc

Women take care of kids and cooking, cleaning etc

Thats how society is till even today

20-30% men do help in house hold work but very little mostly

Rest only will watch TV etc

That will not change shortly to large extent

Why that? In house parents expect daughters to help in house work but sons should only study

Very rarely a son or brother expected to help in house hold work

Ask any man they will say they started doing tea/coffeee after marriage

Majority men do not do house work in parents home

Hmm I just hope this slowly changes. Everything can't be totally changed and works can't be totally equal as women have to be pregnant, take care of children. But, hope little by little these things change reasonably.

No one is perfect be it, man or woman, marriage works when both imperfect people work well together in a harmonious way and keep the home going.

it does not matter who does which work, all it matters is if the home is running smoothly with what you and your partner are doing. if your house functions well, then don't be bothered with who does what work and who contributes how much. if you both are happy in it and are happy in it then nothing else matters.

I love this quote, it sums up a marriage really well.

We are different players in the game of Life. But together we make a team that hits a home run with all the balls that life throws at us..

Thankss ❤️ Yeah main thing happiness matters. Hope everything turns out to be better

You need to be very careful and take your time before getting even engaged. Don't rush into things. Try to understand his value system as much as possible. Try to learn about the division of work in the house of his siblings friends etc..do it subtly. Don't give the feminism vibes, men hate it as it is a much maligned thing that turns their alarm bell on. Marriage is a relationship of equals so if a guy doesn't seem willing to share the workload of housework, reject him.. it will save you a lot of heartache later. Having said that, a lot of men of our generation are willing to do housework if asked nicely...if the wife demands it as a matter of right then they won't even lift a spoon.. diplomacy is the key
