I didnt follow Sushant but now that he is everywhere , i think i got a glimpse of his personality .. From whatever little i know about him , he strikes me the type that doesn't like to blow his own trumpet ( his fans can correct me if i am wrong ) .. For some people its extremely difficult to do that , even with help they hesitate to do that .. I know because i have the exact same problem ..

@ Blue : This comes up in my every review / feedback on work front .. I love working hard but i hate hate hate flashing the fruits of my hard work .. There is this internal block that just doesn't let me do it .. I would rather my work speak for itself - sadly that doesn't work in the real world .. You gotta be smart about self marketing .. For me - it is still a work in progress ..

Now i can see how the blinds would've have affected SSR .. He was working hard & he wasn't getting due credit for it .. On top of that , negative articles and gossips about him were being circulated left , right & center & he doesn't get a say in it bcoz blind items are designed to be an inescapable trap .. He was already struggling with depression per the reports .. Though his untimely death was shocking at first , now it seems like people should have seen it coming ..

On the bright side , one good thing that happened out of this unfortunate incident is the momentum against unethical practices in Bollywood a.k.a blind items , snatching roles etc .. The hatred has perhaps gone too far ( understandable though ) but good that there is at least a dialogue on correcting the unethical practices in the industry .. These unethical practices are now in the focus in a right way .. It was long overdue .. But it is finally happening ..

Well I would disagree here. One thing I have noticed as a fan is that the boy loved compliments. Not that he was hungry for them but he loved when people recognized him for his achievements. I have lost count of how many times he has mentioned topping engineering entrance exam😆I think it's cute.

I remember in one of his recent interviews for Sonchiriya the host asks Bhumi about how Ayushmaan managed to pick her up during shooting of Dum lagake Haisha and Sush mentions how even he trekked up the hill carrying actual people on his shoulders, the interviewer immediately compliments him for that and he smiles cutely at that. He loved when people noticed his hardwork and I am not even exaggerating when I say that he was probably the most hardworking people Bollywood has ever seen. As an actor he might not be that great but the amount of work he put into his craft and the dedication he had was unmatchable and he did talk about it, it's just it wasn't highlighted as much as other actor's bare minimum efforts eg Ranveer locking himself in room to prepare for Khilji🤔

It's not that he never promoted himself, he just didn't overdo it.There are articles about his love for science, his telescope, his dreams and charity work but people then never noticed. I do blame his PR and team for that. They didn't know how to sell him and failed miserably in controlling the negative press

@ bold in one breath you are praising one actor for his hardwork and undermining another one's hardwork. What you deem as bare minimum helped Ranveer deliver a stellar output.

It is very brave of him to take on this fight and I hope something good comes out of this - the end of blind items. He seems to have gone thru a harrowing experience himself.

The line that struck me the most was - 'Could this disappointment, that nothing he did would ever make it right, be the final straw for him?' This may well have happened to Sushant.

Well maybe I shouldn't have said bare minimum effort but the way it was all over articles I did find it very exaggerated. Also statements saying how he had to go to a shrink to get Khilji out of him.. It seemed a bit too much.

Why is it too much? Maybe he did get emotionally exhausted and sought help. What is wrong in seeking help if felt the need? Isn't that the kind of awareness and support everyone were hoping Sushant had? And regarding over exaggeration I respect your opinion but since he did perform well and recieved accolades he felt he should let the world know the efforts he had to put in to achieve that success !! Isn't that what everyone are ruing Sushant lacked?! So why blame Ranveer for doing what Sushant failed to do?

Beautifully penned down and the fact that it is coming from somebody who works inside the industry speaks volumes about the kind of harassment that takes place there.

I totally agree about what he said on Chichore. I even mentioned it in one of my posts on this forum after the 14th of last month. One doesn't have to follow bollywood news religiously to know when a film is a massive hit or not. You just kind of know because of the fanfare around it. I knew Chichore was a good film because some friends who had seen it in theaters had told me so, but I had no idea that it was such a massive hit till I came on this forum after Sushant left. I was under the impression that it was a film that came and went. No buzz. Nothing.

But, when I compare it to my experience of gully boy which was also a film that I hadn't seen for a long long time after its release, yet I knew that it was a massive hit due to all the noise that was generated around it like it was the best thing since sliced bread. All those PR articles, congratulatory messages, and patting each other on the backs ensured that I knew it was a big success. I also believed Alia's role was the best thing that had happened in a while until l I actually saw the film just a couple of months back. The contrast between the two experiences shocks me and it is more than evident that all of it is done systematically.

And even I was taken aback when I saw Soni Razdan's tweet last night addressed to this writer (I didn't realize he was the same man till I read the tweet part of the article) where she completely dismissed the impact that a toxic environment can have on a person's mental health. I couldn't help but think that how could she whose daughter went public with her depression story be so unaware of how depression works?

@BOLD Do mention the fact that a one movie old Bhagyashree is from the royal Patwardhan family and is the Princess of Sangli, Maharashtra. She obviously had a lot more clout and influence than other outsiders in the industry.

I don't want to read it.. reading the comments itself making me.. Anyway, words has the capability to heal one's years old pain. Likewise, it can kill one's will to live.

I hope people, especially on SNS the jobless trolls can just get a life so that it's become somewhat easy, same IRL.

it was all over the articles because he made it a point to talk about it..........just like SSR mentioned about picking up people when someone asked Bhumi about Ayushmann........ the only difference is that Ranveer promoted it aggressively while SSR didnt............unfortunately in today's world, aggressive promotion is the need........ wish SSR had done the same........the world needed to know how much hardwork he did.....esp in Kedarnath when he climbed up and down carrying people and all some interviewers asked in promotion was what street food Sara liked in mumbai 🤔
