There are no takers for Alia's 'stardom'!

Even her stardom is in question

See, she is a mediocre actress but I'm not even discussing that here.

In my opinion she is not that popular among the masses. Her stardom is built on movies being offered to her on a platter, and roles customized to suit her. Take away her mentor from her, and she will be no-where.

Quoting another member here:

"She doesn't have stardom. She's the female Ayushmaan in my opinion. Good scripts fuel her graph. Add to it she has everything else than Ayushmaan doesnt. Film family. Powerful godfather. His connections. A production company which essentially is hers in a way, just there to produce her movies."

Its just that she is in the limelight because

1.She is a star kid.

2.She has the almighty Karan Johar hand above her.

Now, compare her to Deepika. That is organic stardom, built from scratch and with no godfather to provide roles on a platter. Everything through hard work and hustling.

No wonder, Deepika's stardom is not questioned and Alia is hailed for the likes of Raazi which worked bcoz of patriotic content. Take away that one film from her repertoire of work and Alia has hardly proved her mettle in the field of stardom.

she has proved enough of her stardom..check the opening of her recent movies..even raazi opened at almost 8cr..

it is someone else who fell flat on her face and exposed her stardom with 4cr opening by the same director..

numbers are fact..and you cannot deny these numbers by some opinions

What about the fact that Raazi had patriotic content which tapped into the popular sentiments of the masses and Chapaak was a grim film on acid attack survivors and that too starring Deepika in a disfigured avtar which means it automatically cut off any sort of reliability factor?

but these factors come in play later..

what is the superstar even worthy for when she needs factors like these to open a movie? that is clearly what got exposed about deepika..that just her name cannot give an opening..and if these factors are needed..what is the diff between her and a tapsee/bhumi..

I get your point and you do make sense but I think the trailer was enough of a giveaway about what to expect from the film. EVERYONE knew that Deepika would be playing an acid attack victim. Not everyone has the mentality to accept a popular actress known for her looks in a de-glam and disfigured avtar. You know how the masses work.

Also, since we are talking about Alia, I would like to mention hat she has not developed a name or brand value on her own merit. it has been very quick for her, but she would not have earned the name she has without karan johar.

At least she got 4.75 crores for a grim subject. Not manufactured stardom, curated by KJo and his PR juggernaut. Alia's stardom is not organic, not achieved on her own merits/efforts, hence it cant be called a genuine stardom.

Sorry what ??? No PR Deepika s entire stardom is Built by Her PR take that way and she has absolutely nothing apart from medicore acting talent horrible dialogue delivery and opening that exposes her star power.

It actually an insult to even try compare PR mata to alia who is far better actress

Deepika's is questioned tho

Cause in between her run of hits she had Finding Fanny and Tamasha and XXX. So alot of people pull her down and say she is over rated and relies on male stars and she really does do PR drama. I dont agree its just things that are said.

Going by the box office there seems to be quite a few takers for the movies 😊
