The subject is definitely good and sparks a much needed debate. I see what they were trying to do. A attention hungry and not so upright girl against the rich and handsome college heart throb who can easily do much better than her. Is a no still a no in this case? Of course it is. But there are a couple of points that compromised the integrity of situation and put it in a grey area for me. Wanting, desiring and making advances towards someone is completely OK, but intruding in their personal space to seduce or get them is not. Its not ok for a guy to do this and by the same token its not ok for a girl either. And Tanu stepped in VJs personal space more than once. The bigger issue is Tanu making VJ drink on that night. Intoxicating someone with the intention that they sleep with you is a big red flag in my book. If roles were reversed and a guy did this to a girl i would have definitely called it rape whether or not girl "consented" after being intoxicated. Tanu wanted to sleep with VJ after intoxicating him, coz all her advances were spurned when he was sober, so that is definitely very dubious in my eyes. Of course things took a different turn with VJ forcing himself on Tanu, but the fact that it was done under influence puts a shadow of doubt on whole thing which i hate. If only VJ was sober, or at least Tanu didn't make him drink it would have made her case so much stronger.
Anyway it was a good attempt in parts and Kiaras performance was especially noteworthy. The subject is relevant but not exactly new. The Accused, made more than 30 years ago on a true story, deals with a similar subject much more effectively.
