Someone said her competition is with Ananya, Sara, and Jhanvi. I kind of agree with this. Jhanvi is doing a biopic already in her second film. She needs to be compared to actresses who are given the same opportunities. If these new girls manage to impress, they will be her competition.

Whether its opportunity difference, support, or poor choices, Alia's contemporaries who debuted around the same time are yet to impress the critics consistently like she has. I don't keep track of every actresses line up..but again I wound not say its impossible for someone like a kriti to give a break through performance in the coming years.

deepika debuted 6-7 years ahead of alia, and the fact that she (alia) is currently compared to deepika and does not have any competition regarding her films kind of supports her privilege level. Only a star kid with support would be compared to an outsider so quick, you would never see this with an outsider who debuted years later catch up so quick. just what I think.

When someone leaves the spot vacant, someone else fills it. Isn’t that natural? Bollywood is not Ayodhya kingdom (If Ram is not there, let us designate his Chappal as a ruler).

Hemamalini made use of the place left vacant by Mumtaz. Sridevi made use of Rekha’s absence. Chadni was written with Rekha in mind. Initially Rekha seemed to have said (for newcomers), “When the lion leaves temporarily, mouses claim to rule the jungle”. But ultimately Chadni won and Sridevi took the spot.

After the success of BM, Deepika went to explore Hollywood and was away from Hindi movies for two years. She was lucky that, her contemporaries could not make use of that slot. But again after PV, there is a long gap for a commercial movie. Whether it is a deliberate decision from her side or she is not getting offers due to her marital status or her other demands (equal pay), I don’t know. But at the moment, she does not seem to be ahead of other female leads.

But if she can race ahead along with her demands (equal pay), that would be an achievement.

I think she wanted to break into HW and that costed her as shes done 2 proper movies in 4 years. Its a risk she took which didnt pay off for her

Exactly. If that was the case then Anushka would've claimed the #1 spot, she had been crying for the top since 2010 and had 2 big hits in 2016. Heck even Sonam or Katrina couldn't capitalize. Sonakshi, Jacqueline, Parineeti - why didn't they snatch the top spot? Because they didn't make as big an impact as Alia. And that's a fact.
