There is some truth to this for sure. But it wasn't handed to her (Alia). She had an INCREDIBLE 2016 with Kapoor & Sons / Udta Punjab / Dear Zindagi / ADHM cameo.

I completely agree with the fact that they are like apples and oranges. they are very different from one another. and I am not sure how people even compare them. I like Alia, but lets not minimize deepika's achievements and career graph. She has worked for a longer period of time, has done more films, and is as a whole way more versatile. On a success scale, alia is most definitely #1 in her generation. Deepika, as a whole, is the number 1 actress in terms of her mass appeal. she appeals to a wider audience.

Deepika is still extremely loved by the audience somehow. She is one of these actresses who will never truly fade away. She has earned it.

Now, people say she is very insecure. She was, not anymore, she is too comfortable now but I hope her insecure nature will wake over and make her realize the importance of signing movies when at the top. Once she start a family, she will inevitably slow down so the time is now.

No Alia has had it easy. Absence of the most popular female star definitely has an effect since all the focus goes to her, then Kjo's support + lack of any real competition from her generation. Claiming it's all because of Alia's work is ridiculous (even if she is a solid actress)

Claiming bcos it is due to the absence of other actress is equally ridiculous.

I wonder why Deepika isn't signing much movie's. With meghna gulzar as director I am sure she will do a good job in chhapak. But this is her peak time and she should be doing more movies. BW is now a very competitive world.

Alia has good connections and relation with everyone in Btown. She knows how to get her work done. And in comparison to her competitor's like Shraddha and kriti she is a better actor. Anushka also not in the race. Tapsee could be a threat. I wish Priyanka was active in BW, she could have given some powerful performances. Kangana has talent but is busy fighting with people and is too overconfident. Vidya looks old. Competition hai kahan?

I do think Alia has had it pretty easy due to a lack of competitors.

Shortly after she arrived, Kareena went into semi retirement. PC started concentrating on the west more, later attempted by Deepika. Katrina is probably the only one who really stuck around and Anushka was probably the only other relevant one.

The rest of Alia's contemporaries have never really feature.

Whatever it is,BW will move ahead with the talent it has at present.

Alia debuted in 2012. In December 2018..that is almost 7 years later..Sara Ali khan debuted.

There are too many heroes..and too few heroines.

BW needs to find new faces.

Deepika ka hogaya. She cannot reclaim anything. Recent fiasco made sure people will not work with her to avoid problems. But since she has turned producer she may produce sustainable moderate budget content across platforms with newbie technicians and stay relevant.

Lol, RK’s ex and current always become competitors. First, it was DP and Kat and now it’s DP and Alia.
