There was a very brief periodt in history where Priyanka Chopra very strongly rocked the throne on which Kareena Kapoor had managed to sit on after her own 7-year long climb. That brief periodt was right at the end of 2008 and early 2009. End of 2008 Kareena had a strong hold on the #1 position. PC had 2 back-to-back hits with Fashion and Dostana. Critical acclaim and hit songs = big push. Early '09, Piggy won all the major awards, she also had signed Ashutosh Gowariker's next movie which had her as the main (12) character(s) = HUGE deal. Kareena's next few releases were not as promising (Kambakht Ishq, Main Aur Mrs Khanna types). Arguably Priyanka snatched the throne when she won the National Award in the summer of '09 and had a big hit with Bebo's ex in Kaminey - BUT THEN - What's Your Raashee? flopped so bad, and Kareena bounced back with the massive 3 Idiots and an amazing performance in Kurbaan and she regained control. Katrina was popular but didn't reach the top 2 because she hadn't learned how to put the ACT in ACTRESS yet.

Ash done by 2003? She did Dhoom 2 in 2006 n Jodha Akbar in 2008. Ash was the Number 1 back then. Infact, she was the first Indian actress to cross over and she did around 3 or 4 Hollywood films and started off the Cannes trend. She was also giving interviews to Letterman n Oprahs back then. So pls, she was never done by 2003 . She even did critically acclaimed films in Bengali like Raincoat and Chokerbali. Did films like Robot. After Ash, Rani was Huge.

PC and Kareena were pitted bcoz they did Aitraaz together and PC stole the show. Also, both had a common boyfriend in Shahid and there was also some kind of cold war between them due to their jibes at each other in KWK. But neither of them became a darling of masses like Ash, Katrina n Deepika.

Dhoom 2 would’ve been hit without Aish and Jodha Akbar worked because of her chemistry with HR. Hollywood is another industry. It has nothing to do with Bollywood’s success. Irfan Khan worked in Hollywood but that doesn’t make him a bigger star than SRK. Ash career is filled with flops. She only had 5-6 hits and almost all those hits were with either SRK, Salman or HR. Can Ash do challenging roles like the way PC did in Fashion? Or can she overshadow her male co-star like Kareena did in Jab We meet? I don’t think so. She tried in Jazbaa but she totally failed. Her career was not any better than Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu or Amisha Patel. Only thing that kept her relevant is her beauty. If she was not considered the most beautiful women in India, then she would’ve consider a B-grade actress like those actresses. So there is no way she was ahead of PC and Kareena.

Compare their filmography and then you will see the difference. PC won national award. Did Ash also won national award? Kareena is still giving hits. Did Ash gave hits after her comeback?

It's good enough to know that Aish PC did substantial roles not just flowerpot unlike Kareena Katrina.

Fact remains katrina was number one pc wasnt. One can say konkana did better roles than pc. is she bigger than pc? In bw ranking is defined by stardom .

Yes people remember number ones. Just your fave never reached, it doesnt means that it means nothing. Pc was always second or third but never number one.

Fame n success defines number one status, endorsements does, hits does. Kat was way ahead of pc in everything. Thats why she was number one.sje was endorsing ober 20 brands at her peak. Never reached that number.

A female number one is who has most hits and endorsements. Neither pc nor kareena was public fave like kat.
