Kareena fans r hilarious. She never was box office queen. 3 idiots was aamir movie not kareena and kurbaan was flop. Where as katrina made newyork hit and ajab prem ki gazab kahanai superhit when ranbir was newbie and had done nothing much back tben. Her stardom was real and actually could sell tickets. Katrina had hits not flops after flops of kareena. She was public number one. But keep denying that! Kareena and pc fought for number 2. Katrina was was always number one.

And Ash was quite good in Hum Dil, Devdas, Jodha Akbar, Guzaarish, Raincoat etc. And so wat if Ash gave Hits with SRK, HR, Salman, she always had a significant role in those films. If u see filmography, Ash had the best filmography as she did Best projects not only in Bollywood but also South and Bengali. U are really some Ash hater that u put her with Shilpa Shetty n Ameesha. When fact is she was always compared to the likes of Madhuri in terms of beauty n popularity. She was a favorite of ace directors like SLB, Maniratnam, Yash Raj, Rituparno Ghosh, Shankar etc.

Never. She was like the female Ajay Devgn. Ek saal mein 4 movies karti thi, ek hit/superhit ho jata tha toh flop heoine ka tag nahin lagti thi. Till late 2000s, this had been the norm in BW though.. Har sal mein 3-4 mein se ek film hit ho jati the toh tum safe. Jaise Sallu ko flop tag tab lagta tha jab woh pure saal mein ek bhi hit nahin deta tha.

Yes people remember number ones. Just your fave never reached, it doesnt means that it means nothing. Pc was always second or third but never number one.

Fame n success defines number one status, endorsements does, hits does. Kat was way ahead of pc in everything. Thats why she was number one.sje was endorsing ober 20 brands at her peak. Never reached that number.

A female number one is who has most hits and endorsements. Neither pc nor kareena was public fave like kat.

For how long is some one gonna remember who was number one and for what period and for how long maintained that position..

Down the line both PC Katrina Aish would be counted as top most celebrities.

Aalia is everywhere in endorsements and in movies yet there is no stardom here she is just been imposed over.

So your theory of stardom with hits and endorsements doesn't fit here.

I am not saying PC is on top or Katrina is not famous. Or Aish is nobody.

Not trying to pick fights. But personally I woudn't rate katrina over priyanka, or anything. I dont live in india, but I don't care who is number 1 and stuff. But I would classify priyanka as a star, and I would also classify katrina as one as well. Not one is better than the other, they are just different. Just my opinion. usually number 1 artists are stand out actresses, no doubt. but that doesnt mean those who dont make it to number 1 arent.

I think my question was to ask why she isnt a number 1 actress given that she is so successsful today. My question if anything was to question the numbering system more, maybe. But all it is a basis of a hit ratio, right?

I don't think best actresses are number 1. I mean that the numbering system is based on number of hits, and that's all it is really. So those who reach number 1 are the so called the actors/actresses who dominate, yes, because they are most successful with their films/have the highest hit ratio. So in that case, I agree with you that katrina was one of those actresses. A number 1 actress will dominate in your words because they are most successful, but I dont think you need to be the number 1 actress any more to be a star. There more to a personality than just giving hit after hit.

And I just realized im going off topic, but I get your point. But now, I notice minimal differences btween katrina, kareena, and PC in terms of stardom. They are all stars. at one point, katrina was def the center of things, not denying that.
