Betty : I can't quote you as I am not allowed to put the link as per the forum rule.

I can validate of what I had written as I am from that generation who have been following Bollywood from 80's.

The OP asked whether he was offered movies before QSQT.

Before QSQT, Aamir had done two movies as an adult,in supporting and lead roles respectively.

QSQT imdb trivia:

Aamir Khan first time as a small boy he had appeared as Junior Tariq in Yadoon Ki Baraat. Before Q.S.Q.T. Aamir Khan had acted in Ketan Mehra's Holi & Abhi Bhattacharya's Raakh.

Raakh was shot before QSQT.AFAIK he was shooting for its final schedule and QSQT simultaneously.

Yes nepotism always existed in Bollywood. Like Piracy or casting couch or all the other problems 🥱

If QSQT/MPK had flopped, both Aamir and Salman would have acted as supporting actors before fading away. They'reindustry kids but they didn't have the leverage that today's nepokids do.

The whole nepotism debate springs from the fact that untalented people are receiving full support from industrywallahs, whilst talented people, we might have never heard of, are losing out to the likes of Ananya and all.

Nobody has an issue with HR being a product of nepotism. Aamir, Salman, and HR all started with blockbusters. So, they quickly made a name for themselves. That's not the case with the actors that Salman and Karan launch these days. They're usually in the position they are because of connections. Nor are they exceptionally talented, nor do they have the star power. There are exceptions like Alia of course.

Aamir honestly wasn't that great of an actor when he started off he only improved in mid 90s after Raja Hindustani and Rangeela, he refused "Darr" because he didn't wanna do a negative role at an early stage of his career neither Salman and Aamir took risk compare to SRK who started his career playing negative roles and later transform into the King of romance, Aamir wasted his opportunity in the 90s he never made good use of his potential and did some crap movies like Tum Mere ho, Deewana Mujh Sa Nahin and Mela.

AIK DUM GHALAT.

*Aamir was so keen on doing Darr...he rejected it only bcoz Yash chopra refused a joint narration with sunny, which was v unprofessional at yash's side.

*Aamir ALREADY done a negative/dark role in 1989 in film RAAKH for which he got special jury NATIONAL AWARD just in his 2nd film itself.

*Saleem & Salman wanted an alternate ending to Baazigar...which the director refused...but later on took srk and changed the story as per saleem khan's early suggestion.

*Mela was NOT a 90s movie.

*Aamir done ANOTHER PHENOMENAL NEGATIVE ROLE in 90's itself in 1998 release EARTH-1947

* Srk hammed his guts out in baazaigar and especially in Darr...Aamir was 100 times better in RAAKH (thats why he got a NATIONAL AWARD for it from special jury) and ARTH-1947 in dark negative roles in 90s itself.

aur kuch ...?? 😊

of course.....Salman and Aamir are both the product of BW stars....Aamir's Dad was a star director and Salman's Dad was a star writer.....but then we also have Salman's 2 younger brothers who are also the sons of the same Dad..Aamir's brother Faisal..and nephew Imran.....then there are star kids of much bigger stars....like Esha, Uday chopra, AB Jr, Bobby Deol,Kapoor Khandaan ke saare chiraag.....why didn't these all excel...they had similar opportunities....same resources.....ab aisa toh hai nahi Salim Uncle would have made more efforts for Salman and not his other aulaads......lekin aakhir mein ....succeed wahi karte hain....jinmein Dum hota hai...Salman, Aamir, Sunny Paa ji, Ranbir...they all excelled because of how they wooed the audience and not because of nepotism...nepotism can only give u some opportunities....aapko audition ke liye line mein nahi lagna padega...u will have access to the best directors, OR machinery and all the nine yards....but audience doesn't care ki aap kiske bete ho....they care for the talent, looks and karisma....jiske paas nahi hai..woh survive nahi karega.....star kid or not..

I find it very hypocritical people bashing star kids....tum nahi karoge apne bachho ke liye...sab karte hain.

People r unnecessarily harsh on industry kids.

They have always been around ..since the second generation of industry's existence. And always only the talented ones have survived. Kids and nephews of the trio of Raj-dev-dilip have tried their hand on acting..only Rishi succeeded. Rajendra Kumar, Rajkumar's sons didn't..it's not like their dads didn't try. So no point in taking away from the success of Khans or others who did..they worked hard and deserved it.

Even today..no one can deny the talent of Ranbir, Kareena, Hrithik, Alia, Varun..and those who aren't talented have faded away.

Talent and luck r 2 main things needed for success in any field
