But this only proves fangirls is not equal to success. He may not be a superstar but he definitely is a successful actor.

Box office might not depend on star power alone but sushant still doesn't have much of that. His movies open below 10 Crores. Him getting good work is not really an excuse. Because if he has got good work and still he has failed to give hits then he's not any different from a star kid.

There are no superstars on television. TRP audience watches a show based on its drama and entertainment value. Fangirls are there but they are not big enough to make a show hit. Movie audience still considers watching a film based on who's starring in it.

He is an actor. Uska kaam hai achhi acting karna and after watching his work in Sonchiriya I can see he has grown as an actor and is here to stay. Now fan following is something which is out of his hand. You can't blame him for not having as many fans as his contemporaries. Not everything has to be about box office. This attitude of the audience and media is the reason why talented actors like Jimmy shergil and Randeep Hooda never get their due.

The TV actors are less talented in comparison to BW actors and also lack screen presence which is important for big screen. Also the way you act on TV & Big screen is different. Body language, dialogue delivery, expressions, all differ greatly between these media

TV is more of the character driven and less of acting skills. Besides many watch TV show out of sheer addiction or habit but movie watching is a thought of choice.

How can talent be judged on the basis of medium? Acting is acting.... As an actor they are suppose to get into the skin of character. That's their only job. The director s job is to get out the right performance.

They are so many actors in bollywood who act so well in a movie while other movies their performances come across bad.... They say we are director s actor.

Tv actors lack Screen presence seriously.... Not everyone has screen presence.... Even in bollywood... It s not that certain medium has some defect..... Now Some films actors tried tv fiction show they failed so they lack screen presence on small screen O Wat.... These same tv actor born to some legendary bollywood families then they would have screen presence in ur opinion right

No offence to u but bollywood forum I m finding opinion quite biased towards tv medium

Nways I m happy that there is world outside this forum and tv stars are getting bollywood offers they are doing quite well there as well as on small screen and Web series. The gap is reduced.

Fan-following is not on his hands then whose hands? It requires an X-factor to make fans. Just good acting is not enough. Box office might not be everything but it's something on which he's failing. Nothing wrong in accepting that.

It's Wierd that no one is mentioning Yami Gautam who came from TV as well. She was the lead in Colors show and I think she has done pretty well. At least she is still getting movies

Yaar chodo! X factor is subjective. Ab banda apne aap ko badal to nahi sakta na to become popular.I agree he isn't a superstar to get good opening numbers but if he gets a good opportunity then even he can deliver hits like badhai ho, uri, (even Kabir Singh) etc. He is a known name and a good actor so to call him a failure especially when he has reached where he is on his own merit is wrong. How many people go from engineering dropout to background dancer to TV star to a leading man in Bollywood.

X-factor as far as I understand is something which makes you stand out of the crowd...something unique, something extraordinary. Sushant lacks it and that's the reason he doesn't have a good fan-following. Actually I don't even consider Badhai ho or uri as Vicky's or Ayushmann's success. Those movies worked because of content and giving the lead actor credit will be disservice to its writers and director.

No one is questioning Sushant's struggles. Atleast not I am. I was only talking in the context of box office. People have many different successes and failures in their life. Don't use his success in something to defend his failures in other things.
