Akshay Kumar hikes his price nine times more, to Rs 54 crore per film!

Akshay Kumar has been on a roll recently, delivering back to back blockbusters and, is undoubtedly one of the highest-paid actors of Bollywood. While doing a film, the Khiladi Kumaroften tends to come on board as an ally when it comes to profit shares. However, the actor is known for invariably hiking his bounty by a factor of nine! Interesting, right?

Some time ago when Akshay paved his way into the sphere of profit shares, he was billing Rs 27 crore, then Rs 36 crore and then followed by Rs 45 crore. And the latest buzz is that the 2.0 actor has yet again has raised the numbers nine times, making it to Rs 54 crore per film! This reminds us of Akki’s ‘Paisa Paisa’song from De Dana Dan!

As per a report in Deccan Chronicle, a trade source quoted, “Akshay is fond of the number nine. When he was working on Rowdy Rathore, he billed the makers for `27 crore. But that was in 2012. Now, Akshay demands a cool `54 crore and gets it too. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had bankrolled Rowdy Rathore, which was directed by Prabhu Deva. And when Akshay shifted the release date of PadMan last year to get a free run for Padmaavat at the box office, he jokingly asked Bhansali to promise him a sequel. And now that the sequel is happening, the makers realize that they will need to pay him exactly double for it.”

All of Akshay’s payments and trade sources indicate the 51-year-old actor’s price is in figures of nine, which is said to be his lucky number!

Just recently, Akshay was the only Indian to feature on the list of Forbe’s World's Highest-Paid Celebrities of 2019. The magazine reported that he earned a staggering 65 million USD (around Rs 444 crore) from June 2018-June 2019.

On the professional front, Akshay has a plethora of interesting projects lined up ahead including Jagan Shakti's Mission Mangal, Farhad Samji's Housefull 4, Raj Mehta's Good News, Raghava Lawrence's Laxmmi Bomb, Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi and Farhad Samji's Bachchan Pandey.

He will be seen next in the highly anticipated, Mission Mangal, which also stars Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen in pivotal roles. The film essays the real-life story of the Indian Space Research Organisation's Mars Orbiter Mission which made Mars more accessible to explore. It is slated to release this Independence Day, August 15, 2019.

He will take 50 Crores for a movie and will act in 10 films. He will continue to work like a donkey for few more years.

After that (when he is no more earning), his cool wife who is cracking double meaning jokes on twitter will ask divorce from him with half his earning. Who is smarter? 😎

This is not America or Europe, there is no 50-50 thing in Indian laws or courts. In India family courts rule that enough money should given to ex-wife to maintain decent lifestyle, so Twinkle is not getting more than 100-200 crores max from Akshay.

Amrita Singh got only 5 crores from Saif Ali khan, nothing from his enormous real estate holdings.

Good he is able to demand such hikes.. He needs all these extra monies to donate for various causes periodically and stay in 'good citizen book' till he migrates to canada..

Yet the collection of his films don't increase. He'll stop getting Hit verdict for his movies because of the price hike.

exactly! it doesn't make sense at all. So if he takes 54 crores + 5crores (for the poor female actor), at least 30crores give or take (for pure production costs, studio, sets, technicians etc) = 89-90 crores (a crore or two for the director, supporting cast) = 90-95crores. That's just not profitable when his films at maximum make154crores (his highest, I guess) ? or am I missing something?

54 crores will include profit sharing. Profit is shared when movie reaches break even point. If movie dont reach break even no prfit sharing. So if his movie reach break even, then the profit will be splited half. That is what i think
