Akshay's funda is simple. His movies conclude in the shortest possible time-frame, which means his movies don't have extra costs. Without his fees, the budget of his movies don't exceed 30-35 crores.
So, with his current 1 crore per day rate, he earns 25-30 crore as they wrap his shooting in 15-25 days + additional dubbing.
Most of the time, his movies cross 100 crores and usually, it goes 120+. That's just theatrical revenue. Satellite, digital, and music rights bring in 200-300 crores. Now, just think, with 25-30 crores in fees + 30-35 crore of budget + 20-25 crores in marketing, 75-90 crores is the usual budget of his movies. Before release alone, the producers end of earning 200-300 crores. Then, add 100-150 crores net from India and another 50-100 crores from overseas.
Would you mind paying Akshay 50 crores now?
Mr Bajaj is still richer.. 400 crore yoooo..
But Satellite and music rights don't go for that high as 100-200 cr. Those are just faltu numbers being thrown around.. music rights are sold for max 10cr now and perhaps 40cr for tv/streaming rights.
With Producers usually just recovering the production cost with those rights 50crs (tv+music) and then theatrical revenue is usually 120/2 = 60cr minus distributor's share.. so bacha kucha 10-15cr profit..
It's only Aaamir and Hirani films who get those huge numbers..
