So i was watching many films that released in the early q2000s. And these are the things I noticed
1. Filmmakers weren't really sure what they were doing...they were leaving behind the 90s and so there was this weird thing going on where the actresses were wearing sports bras or crop tops for no reason
2. It looked like they were trying so hard to change the fashion quotient.
3. They were confused while making films ki sanskaari banaye ya so called modern progressive. For example: Mujhse Dosti Karogi had that family angle and Rani was the simple girl while Kareena was the "progressive" one ans ofc the hero falls for the sanskaari mahila...but then Kareena's opening shot is only in sports bra and track pants for no reason...and that time no one would wear such stuff also! xD
4. On the other hand, veterans from the 90s ka formula was failing...like David Dhawan with Chal Mere Bhai (tho i love the soundtrack)
5. It seemed like there was two camps: one was yrf and dharma making family films with some sort of forced modern shit and then the other film.makers whose old formulas were failing
6 The veteran composers of the 90s made way for young blood...but even the soundtracks then were confusing- some sounded too 90s that didnt go with the film's modernity
7. Unnecessary kissing and sex scenes added, as if to show progressiveness
Its like things changed around 2007 when the filmmakers and music department kind of figured out what they wanted.
Did anyone else also notice these?
