Bollywood is the biggest cesspool of incredibly stupid souls who think their birth somehow makes them more important, thus they continue to foster their elitism and classicism amongst themselves. And I'm astounded that India not only tolerates it, but continues to put these arseholes on a pedestal they don't deserve one bit. TV actors also need to stop putting these A-holes on a pedestal, look towards more creative avenues if you want more opportunities, such as netflix, or other niche entertainment avenues. They don't need to suck up to these idiots for work.
I think things are changing. While TV actors might still be a bit awed by bw A-Listers, they are also slowly realizing that mainstream Dharma-fied bollywood isn't the only acting avenue through which they can earn a living or critical appreciation/accolades - I.e if they are striving to make a move from T.V to something else. A few years ago no one or at least not these many people would have blasted the editor of Filmfare so uninhibitedly! Now they know that the only thing that might be out of their reach is headlining a big commercial bollywood movie at the age of 20. But opportunities for good work? That's plenty these days. Netflix, Prime, YouTube originals and heck there has been a revival of the presence of theatre actors in bollywood who are getting fab roles (or rather, they are making their presence felt with brilliant work)
Moreover, what's the point of even sucking up to these people anymore - when they know that the only kind of work they can expect from such people is the sort of work Siddharth Shukla and Aditya Seal have gotten in Humpty and SOTY2
