38cr is decent for 3 days considering the reviews plus Dharma's recent negative press. It should make a profit with worldwide total plus music and tv/digital rights. Songs are popular aka saving grace.

in that scenario even they r calling KALANK a success on the basis of worldwide business, check their wiki article LOL where its claiming abt being in the top ten grossers lol...

point is not the profit they would make out of worldwide business or satellite or digital etc, the point is domestic theatrical run which decides a bollywood's film fate unlike hollywood movies which are made for worldwide business...

in that case, with monday's fall SOTY is definitely out of the HIT and success race and now is swinging between average and below average, it shall be confirmed by the next week.

Student Of The Year 2 Is Fair On Tuesday

Student Of The Year 2 is holding fair collections on Tuesday with collections in the 4.75-5 crore nett range. The drop is minimal with major multiplexes across the country hardly dropping while smaller plexes and single screens went down 10-12%. The drop is a surprise as after the Monday drop it was expected that the film would have a bigger drop.

The film is managing to stay afloat though the crucial day will be Friday when it gets competition from another film De De Pyar De which will hava a similar target of the multiplex audience. The film has collected close to 48 crore nett in five days and should now cross the 55 crore nett mark in week one.

The film has not done well in East Punjab, Delhi city and South but the rest of the country is doing average business. Mumbai has pretty decent numbers and is around 15 crore nett in the first five days. The mass circuits are decent for a film in this zone but Tiger Shroff films are expected to do better in the hindi markets today.

Student Of The Year 2 Box Office Day 5 Early Trends: After enjoying a great weekend, Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria starrer Student of the Year 2 is seeing a downward trend at the box office now. Till date, the film has collected 44.35 crores and now it looks difficult to even touch the 60 crores mark.

Due to not so great word of mouth and mixed reviews from the critics, the film is losing its grip at the box office.

Student Of The Year 2 Box Office Day 5 Early Trends: Stable On The Lower Side!

If we see the early trends which are flowing in, SOTY 2 has collected in the range of 4-5 crores which means the day 5 total would fluctuate between 48-49 crores. On its first Monday, the film saw a drop of almost 50% which clearly means that it is not working in the films’ favour.

Recently, Tara was asked if she is disappointed with the response, she said, “I am not feeling disappointed, but I am feeling really happy that it has been accepted so well. I think what we envisioned for the film, according to that, we feel lucky and thankful that it has opened so well at the box office. The entire team of SOTY 2 is very happy and I would like to make an appeal to the audience that keeps giving us the love that you have been giving us.”

Student of The Year 2 had a decent hold on Tuesday as the film had a limited rop from Monday. The film collected 4.75-5 crore nett on Tuesday taking its five day total close to 48 crore nett. the first week is heading for a 55 crore nett first week which is not good but its not that bad either.

It remains to be seen whether the film gets some follow through in the second week or does it capitualate. If the film can sustain like Tuesday over the next two days then it would mean the film has actually sustained well over the weekdays despite the Monday drop. But normally films do have a more noticeable drop on one of the weekdays unless reports are strong.

There will De De De Pyaar De releasing on Friday (Thursday Evening previews) which is probably catering to the same audience as Student Of The Year 2 as far as circuits are concerned so that film could knock the collections of Student Of The Year 2 in places like Mumbai circuit. The first four day collections of Student Of The Year are as follows.

Student of The Year 2 is competing with Baaghi (2016) to be the second highest Tiger Shroff NETT grosser but it will be the mass circuits which will probably keep it below Baaghi. If we look at the five day numbers then places where a big chunk of the business comes from multiplexes like Mumbai, Delhi / UP, East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore are pretty similar while in others Student Of the Year 2 is well short.

Some circuits like Bihar are far bigger than now it was in 2016 but still Student Of The Year 2 has lesser collections. Its a similar story for Odisha which is a far bigger circuit now. It will be the mass markets which will be the difference as the liftime will probably be similar in the bigger circuits but Student Of The Year 2 could be ending up with 50% of Baaghi in the circuits where the business from multiplexes is less as there is a huge difference in the numbers on Monday and Tuesday in places like CPCI and Bihar.

There is also ratio change due to the tax changes as Mumbai and Delhi / UP contribute more now due to Maharashtra and UP having a huge reduction in tax due to GST so this will be a factor in the higher Mumbai and Delhi / UP figures.
