I hope your question was answered 😆

I am happy to be an Alia fan at the time of Alia-wood.
No I am yet to recieve an answer which can completely satisfy me.
So far what I understood is people who were using the word "miscast" actually meant it but "tailor made" people were just using ise hi as a part of the trend without actually caring about the meaning of it. 😆

Miscast or tailor made ka pata nehi
But she is boring for sure

And if well liked means everything then I don't know why Salman khan is blamed for his non existing acting capabilities by same group of people, woh at least comedy to thik thak kar leta hain and has huge screen presence😛

I can understand if some find her "miscast" in her movies! ... But "Tailor made" I don't really agree ... Yes, KJo gives her a good backing and reaches out for projects which he or they both think may be worthwhile for her career ... He doesn't go out there to "CREATE tailor made projects" for her! ...
One thing is fosho and I have said this in the past, KJo has a good perception of market and what may or may not work ... most of the time, movies he's backed up have worked and found success ... He's got the "eye for it" ... May be even Alia has similar insight (-we never know since we don't know what goes behind the doors) ... Gist is "tailor made" rants are nothing but nonsense to me to downplay someone's success! ... If you have a keen eye to pick up "good projects" you'll hit the mark ... Ranveer Singh (-last few years), Ranbir Kapoor (-few years back) and Varun Dhawan are another few examples ... they have and do pick up scripts they can do justice to and know it's got a good chance to work! ...
End of the day even "good movies/good roles" don't guarantee a success ... Without audience's support no movie can find a foot-hold no matter how "well" a job an actor has done or how good a role it may be!

Don't take such posts seriously. I have no idea who said those things but most of the hate Alia gets is from rival actresses's fans.

The fact of the matter is Alia has no competition right now. Audience loves her. Plus, she can act. Her movies do well at the box office and most of them get praised by critics too.

Karan Johar isn't in the charity business. If Alia wasn't useful to him, he would not give "tailor made" roles to her. Look at how fast he dropped Imran Khan (who btw was his only "worthy" contender against Ranbir for a long ass time), Rani M, Priety Zinta, Kareena, Abhisekh Bacchan etc. once they were no longer relevant at the box office. Karan tried so hard to push Abhisekh in the mid-2000s but audience rejected AB .So, at the end of the day, people decide who they like. And they like Alia, overwhelmingly.

Finally someone said this.

I am tired of people saying Karan is promoting Alia, and not "allowing" others to shine.

Lol. He might be backing Alia (which he is) but there is no way Karan is responsible for the failure of Alia's contemporaries.

Alia has made a loyal fan following, based on her talent and merit. She had like 3 releases in last 2 years.

A crappy Badri Ki Dulhania became a hit, because the audience LIKED Alia in that film.

Raazi became a hit, without any controversy. 👏Can you imagine Shradha or Parineeti in that film, and making a hit on their own? I don't think so.👎🏼

I know a lot of people who were disappointed because Alia had a small role in Gullyboy, even though it was an out and out Ranveer's film.

Anyone could've done her small role in Gullyboy, but she was chosen for that role because she adds special' to her characters. It becomes a bonus when the film itself is good.

If tailor-made roles == success? Then Esha Deol and Abhishek Bacchan would be superstars today.😆😆

Is Karan paying the audience back to come and watch Alia's movies?😆

I mean look at this forum. Alia is the most discussed person, even though its mostly for negative reasons

Alia is talented.. no one is denying that.. but IMO, it has become tiring to see her in every other big project.. There is no competition to her.. She swoops the best actress award every year.. Awards bhi dekhne ki zaroorat nahi ab toh..
She did good in her roles so far.. but I feel if given chance, others would have done same if not better job too.. nd by others I mean girls who can actually act.. not the likes of Shraddha and Disha..
Dharma backing matters a lot.. e.g. Badri or say Humpty if produced by any other PH, would not have garnered that attention I feel.. so Dharma plays a big hand in hyping up Alia.. if they could give similar roles to other deserving actresses, I feel they can succeed too..
