Deepika and shahid scenes were unbearable specially shahid and what was that cartoonish set of all the deer hunting and caves 👎🏼 ...deepika looked horrendous in front of aditi rao hydari considering she was supposed to be eternal beauty...ranveer played a joker once he became king and to top it all what was that rajputs this ...rajputs that all the time 😲😆

Deepika played Srilankan princess. Sinhaleses is the word of the past. She was made to look darker and look like a srilankan which Padmini was before her mrg to rajput but she's pretty in her own way. Stop trying to make dark and unibrow = ugly.

That does not matter. He will still be remembered for being the only Filmmaker from India in recent times whose movie was Nominated for Foreign Film category 😊

@ThunderLight Um... SLB wasn't inspired by JA. JA was mediocre too.

SLB had been planning to make Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat since the 90s, long before JA was released. Devdas, a period film, was also made before it. Devdas is in fact considered a classic and was critically acclaimed. It's even been included in various lists of the best movies of all time.

JA wasn't even a critical success. It was filled with historical inaccuracies and was criticised heavily because of it. It was more like a fantasy film if anything 😆😆

Even Padmaavat received a lot of nominations and wins, that doesn't make it a great movie. JA and Padmaavat received those awards because of their technical aspects.

Even Mughal-e-Azam is mediocre and historical inaccurate for some - especially Karni Sena 😆. That will never change the fact that it was a Classic and Gamechanger.

Forget SLB, even Rajamouli copied some sword fighting - flirting scenes between lead and elephant scenes from Jodha Akbar.

Infact, Ashutosh never kept anything fantasy or gaudy or melodramatic in the film. From the jewellery to the simple makeup of Ash to the Forts, everything was actually subtle and realistic. He is no Bhansali to make Akbar dance to Malhari despite having the best Dancer in the country as his lead.

And fyi, Ashutosh n the Film swept all the awards that year - not just in India but also internationally. You clearly seem to have mixed up Jodha Akbar to Mohenjodaro 😆 He may be having a bad run at BO, but Ashutosh made Lagaan which was nominated under Foreign film category the Oscars. He sure knows to make films.

And whether you accept it or not, Jodha Akbar was a huge risk back then. Which is why many were asking Hrithik not to sign it as such films were never successful. Its success and response actually kickstarted the trend to make such Historicals in recent times.

I think she looked pretty. I dont see any other Actress in this generation who has the Indian face, dignity and grace to make Jauhar believable. Everyone is so plastic.

SLB himself is a copy-cat why is he getting so much credit just for doing BM and paddu recently ..Suppose tomorrow he makes a non-historical then would he be copying kjo or any other 🤔
Don't understand these mad claims of SLB - historicals saviour, ranveer - revived cop movies , deepika - beauty personified and only one to play roles in historicals etc etc 😆

Fyi I know the difference between JA and Mohenjodaro even though both were crap films 😆😆

Like I've already said, JA must've also bagged a lot of awards like Padmaavat but that doesn't make it a great film. It was criticised heavily. The awards were given mainly for technical achievements. JA is a fantasy film. A man who had 300+ plus women in his harem is shown like a Romeo-esque lover and a one woman man with a fictional character 🤣

BM is more historically accurate minus the dance numbers from Ranveer and Deepika-Priyanka but that was obviously done for marketing purposes and promotions.

Mughal-e-Azam was also historically inaccurate but it remains a classic.

The only time she looked better was in the ending , rest of the time she looked horrendous to me . Aditi totally looked like a beautiful royal queen over deepika when they both were in same frame .

Mughal e Azam also showed Akbar with Jodha - without his Harem. Infact, JA was like a Prequel to it. 😆 And SLB films with its Pinga to Malhari to that Cloth Mirror was as fancy as Bahubali minus the punch 🤣Tujhe problem Hrithik se hai. Historical accuracy se nahi 😉
