Bhumi's role is damn mysterious, it's making me pull my hair 😆 but she recently hinted that she'll play a negative role maybe which means she'll play Aurangzeb's other sister, Roshanara, which is a negative character. Nothing confirmed, of course. Just guesses.

Yes, Kareena is definitely playing the eldest sister.

Also, I think Karan himself would've preferred to give Dara's role to Ranveer because he's not as popular as Aurangzeb and Ranveer will lend a lot to the character with his star power.

The way Karan talks he actually had no vision. Just wanted a historical veteran (Ranveer) in his movie at any cost. He would not have minded even if Ranveer picked Jahanara.!

I think the reason why Ranveer picked Dara was coz its almost like a fictional character because of the lack of awareness and material about him. Ranveer will have a free-hand at improvise and make a character sketch of his own instead of fit into a mould which Aurangzeb will have to eventually as he is well known and there are parameters he has to match.Irrespective of him being good or bad Aurangzeb will have to be portrayed black (perception) a heartless tyrant which would be same as Khilji and would have been very repetitive for Ranveer. By choosing Dara Ranveer is actually honing his directorial skills at Karan's expense.

Lol nothing is confirmed, just speculation from my side but Janhvi's role is more or less fixed because she's already taking mujra lessons from Saroj Khan. Mujra was of course performed only by courtesans.

There have been lots of reports recently about how Alia and Vicky will reunite again after Raazi so I said that right now it seems like Alia and Vicky are paired with each other. Ranveer has clearly said that he's not paired with Alia and is really bummed because of that.

Maybe Bhumi will play Aurangzeb's sister, Roshanara, because she recently hinted that she'll play a negative role and Roshanara is a negative character. Of course, nothing is confirmed. Just guesses.

Dara's wife was not a khoon peene waali. Bhumi described her character as khoon peene waali so Bhumi must be playing Roshanara who sided with Aurangzeb and was thirsty for power. Dara's wife was a timid n demure princess whose world revolved around her husband and was not known to be involved in politics or warfare. That description actually fits janhvi (atleast appearance wise) so my guess is that its janhvi who is paired opposite Ranveer and the kathak she is learning must be for something like mohe rang do laal from bajirao mastani and not a mujra.

More than the cast , I m unhappy with the director of this movie. Kjo has absolute zero knowledge about indian history to make a movie on historical figures. People like SLB, Rajamouli , Ashutosh etc have been fascinated by history and mythology all their life and that is why they can approach such subjects that easily. My big gripe, too.

TM: you are worried about Jhanvi but her role will be a flash in the pan. I worry more about how KJo will balance roles for ALL in the span of the movie.

Cause FOR SURE he will want to give BIG parts to Aloo and kareena and Vicky... It remains to be seen if he is going to shaft Ranveer's part- but I don;t trust KJo at all in that respect so don;t be surprised if ././.. by the time TAKHT comes out... many will say Ranveer's role is too short/not developed enough/something is missing.

Yeah my distrust towards KJo is big...

Janhvi IS learning mujra. She's clearly said it in an interview recently that she's "learning mujra for Takht" and can't get the routine out of her head.

Mughal princesses did not do mujra so either way she's not playing Ranveer's wife because Dara's wife, Nadira, was a Mughal princess. This is not Mohe rang etc. Mughal princesses were always in strict pardah and mujra was only performed by courtesans.

I know Janhvi has a small role but I can't help it, I feel really annoyed that she's a part of this movie 😆

Anyways, yeah I'm also worried whether Karan will be able to do justice to the story and screenplay. All the actors who've read the script have said that it's great but it doesn't matter how great the story because if Karan doesn't have the vision to pull this off then it'll totally go to waste.

with Karan being the director, we really cant think of authenticity... so as @goldendew said, Jhanvi might be learning dance for some personal song, Dara's wife will performs for him... cause otherwise there is no one opposite him...

@bold: cinematic liberties are taken in historic films when it comes to dance. Paro the wife of a takur danced with tawaif Chandramuki, Kashibhai a peshwa's wife danced with Mastani, Padmaavat a rajput queen danced when dancing was not something women of nobility and aristocracy did in those times..

yea, the main cast I am unhappy with is KJO as the director 😆
