Lukka Chuppi Good First Day - Sonchiriya Very Poor

Lukka Chuppi did well on day one as it grossed 7.75 crore nett and it did good to decent business in all markets across India. Even the smaller circuits had decent numbers for a film with this sort of face value. The film has collected more than Badhaai Ho, Stree, Raazi and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety which were the small - medium films that did very well last year.

There is a tax change so the GROSS numbers may still be behind Badhaai Ho and Raazi but the other two it has beaten for sure ven in terms of GROSS and the footfalls. The film recovered costs pre release through non theatrical rights and this opening day number is good enough to make it a success. It will be Tuesday that will tell if the film can be a major success as the weekend growth is certain as it is a film for multiplexes only.

The other film Sonchiriya is very dull as it collected just 1 crore nett on day one. There have been some great dacait films in Hindi cinema but mostly in the 60's and 70's but this one will not be going anywhere and will not get an audience on any format.

I'm really glad I went to watch it hehe

I never thought I'd say this but damn I loved Karthik and his character and Kriti and all the side actors especially Aparshakti lmaooo

Altho I wish the Coca Cola video was longer AND I wish the poster song was actually shown in the movie ugh

Fun fun fun movie. Went last night and didn't regret even a single second. The entire theatre was laughing out loud. It's funny and not offensive to almost anybody. All the characters are well written and almost everyone has a scene or the other to shine. Both Kartik and Kriti were really convincing and natural. Special shout out to Pankaj Tripathi and "Vikas bhaiya.

All in all, full paisa vasool.

Just back from Luka Chuppi .Alas the film is not a complete entertainer that it promised to be .The film has a lively first half but the curse of second half strikes hard later .

The concept of live in relationship is not eye popping anymore but still the film manages to entertain/feels fresh in the first half where the proceeding is hilarious and makes you laugh out loud .The second half disappoints primarily because the story just does not move .The entire track where Kirti and Karthik try to get married time and again is just not convincing .

Karthik is a total charmer and wins you completely .What a refreshing act .Kirti surprises with a confident performance .The supporting cast is good too.

Overall a decent film but do not expect much!

Total Dhamaal has shown growth of around 45% and collected 6.75 crore nett on Saturday. The film has collected 11.50 crore nett over two days over its second business and should do at least 20 crore nett over its second weekend.

Lukka Chuppi has done well on day two with around 9.75 crore nett and growth of 25% apprx. The film has good collections though the growth is limited but that good first day puts it into a good position as the weekend can go towards the 30 crore nett mark. The two day collections of the film are 17.50 crore nett.

Sonchiriya is flat on day two with similar collections to day one. the film has collected 1 crore nett apprx on Friday and Saturday for a 2 crore nett two day total. Just because this film was a dacait drama it was even compared with the greatest Hindi film of all time Sholay. First Gully Boy was a classic and masterpiece and now this. Where do these crazy notions come from in the media and a section of the film industry.
