Well this is too small of his entire filmography. You could have added all. And he will still remain the most versatile one amongst his peers. He is like light years ahead of others in terms of versatility now.

Amongst the rest, Vicky will chase him. Rest all whoever was launched post 2005 era, are phuski bomb.

He is a fine actor and yes he has shown Ranveer has shown he can play characters which are different from his OTT characters. But most of his characters do have one thing in common, apart from few, he plays a chichora, just like Ranbir is man child, Ranveer is chichora. Note: It doesn't mean his roles are same, but the character core is same.
Same thing with Ranbir.
But both of them have shown they can play different roles, so it evens them. But Ranbir and Ranveer still don't have the versatility that Vicky has. The ability to get into the skin of the character and become a different person altogether in every character. While Ranbir has done great work in this regards with the Barfi, Sanju and Rajneeti, while Ranveer Singh has shown that he can also do things with his Bajirao and now Gully Boy. But both aren't in the same page as Vicky or Raj Kumar Rao when it comes to changing the core altogether.

he wasn't under acting, he was just playing a person who was not confident, and the whole movie was about him growing from a not so confident person to someone who stole the show in the finale of the rap competition giving a performance which was personification of confidence.

Being successful = versatile? Nice. I must say that this is something which is even worse then thr RIP logic thingy. you beat em all.

Up until Gully Boy, all the roles i saw RS playing required him to be a hyper tharki chichora. BBB, Gunday, all 3 SLB films, haven't watched Simmba but trailer mein he was hyper only. What versatility? Just being a Maratha king or Sultan of Delhi doesnt make u versatile when u almost did the same thing in all the films.
Some members like to make RK's roles which were mostly different from one another all about one thing- being a manchild, but fail to acknowledge the first para about RS. Double standards much?

If RK cannot do a Bajirao(which i do agree with) RS will look like a clown doingg a Barfi or a Rockstar or a Sanju. The directors were obviously smart enough to choose their actors for these films because these roles were made keeping the respective actors in mind.

I agree with Thug, a truly versatile actor is indeed Vicky Kaushal. He is like a chameleon who can fit into any kind of role.

He just can't leave behind his real life OTT self while acting. Recently heard that he was rejected for Milkha Singh role in BMB because of being too energetic.😆

The guy just plays different versions of himself in every film with no nuances.

Exactly!

Truly wonderful! Every performance is different.
Of course as an actor, you have to act.

But the dedication and the almost chameleon-like quality of changing himself according to the film and the role is amazing!

Ranveer is definitely the most talented and versatile actor of his generation . Also...he has a TREMENDOUS screen presence that is what I think most important for a movie actor ( in fact any actor) to be successful . No wonder he is getting rave reviews and box office successes one after another . He is the most deserving one . 👏

I get it now. You misunderstood my original comment hence the rant. 😆

I was referring to the bo success of Padmaavat, Simmba and Gully Boy as versatile because they are all box successes ranging from100 crores++ to 200 crores++.

Hence versatile bo was a word play you misunderstood competely it seems. 😆

(Ps: i know GB is yet to cross 100 crores but the movie will by Friday so don't rant about that also).
