I don't like watching old movies ... Black and white ones are the worse ... find them boring .. they are like "sleeping pills" ...put one ON and in no time I'll be sleeping like a log! .. 😆 ..
Even that small clip of old Devdas I couldn't finish .. 😆 ..
For me it'll always be Aish, the eternal Paro ... <3!

I saw the old Devdas, i was really impressed with Dilip K's acting more specific his way of emoting in sad scenes while he's drinking, it is pretty real life like.

I understand she must have been very well respected. Perhaps more than Aish ever was even at the peak of her career. I also know that Dilip Kumar was one of the most well-respected actors of his time. Perhaps one of the most well regarded after Amitabh Bachan. But different eras have different styles that certain generations adhere to more. I guess I also noticed a difference in the older Paro and the modern Paro. The modern Paro gives back to Devdas more. Well, the older Paro was more submissive. I find her way of delivering the dialogues that actually are meant to give back to Devdas rather meek or submissive. Maybe that was the way she was directed to do it. As it was more common and expected for woman to be like that. I find Aish's way of giving it back to display more rage and attitude towards Devdas. The way Suchitra delivers the dialogues seems like that was how she expected Devdas to treat her.

It's not fair to compare olden movies and the acting to the recent ones especially when the recent Devdas was way more melodramatic and unrealistic compared to the old one. I never watched the old movie neither did I ever see Suchitra Sen's acting. Thanks to this video that I got to know she was great at acting. I used to think Ash acted well only in Devdas and HDDCS but now I changed my opinion about Ash in Devdas 😆

I agree there ..different era & different mindset ..old devdas comes fm era when men were treated as gods or pati parmeshwars ..so many of us wont b able to connect to that era ..
