Shagun Sharma opens up on her experience of working with Smriti Irani in Kyunki 2: 'She is very kaam se..'

Shagun Sharma, currently essaying the character of Pari in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, recently got in an exclusive chat with India Forums and spoke about her experience of working with Smriti Irani on the show and also spoke about her decision to take up a negative role.

Speaking to us about the same, the actress says, ''The experience with the entire crew has been amazing because I already knew quite a few people from Balaji who are part of the crew. Even among the actors, I was already familiar with many of them. With Smriti ma’am, it was more like—you get to learn so much. She is very disciplined. I’m also quite disciplined, but yes, she is extremely disciplined. She’s very much the "kaam se kaam" kind of person when she’s on the floor. But as soon as the director says "cut," you can go up to her, you can talk to her.''

''And I actually do talk to her a lot. I ask her questions like, If this scene is like this, then why couldn’t it have been done differently?” or Why not this way? And she gives very genuine insights. There are certain things that, as a layperson, you just don’t know. I don’t know about many things, honestly. So when I hear her point of view, I realize, “Oh, okay, that makes sense now.”

Ask her about negative roles coming with a lot of intensity and emotional complexity and how does she prepare herself mentally to play a character like Pari, she says, ''I was actually looking forward to the complexities. That’s the reason I took up the role.''
