How can they use that lyrics Javed wrote even though i know it is Vidhu Vinodh's production but those lyrics were very personal for Javed. He wrote them describing his feelings for Madhuri Dixit. It is a sort of love letter from him to her who is supposed to be the original heroine of 1942 A Love Story but had to backoff due to Anil Kapoor's too much growing closeness in her life at that time. He even felt sad that Manisha replaced her later bcos he wanted his lyrics to be shown on her.

Iam not saying they can't use this bcos of same sex relationship. I would have been against it for any other's story even if it is Raj Kumar Rao - Sonam's. No, everyone don't feel the exact lyrics for their lovers it is for Madhuri by Javed Akthar. He described how he felt by her. He described Madhuri in that song. That is Madhuri's song. The ladki/girl in the lyrics is Madhuri.

Just back from the movie .The best part of the movie has to be the fact that homosexuals have been presented as someone normal without making a mockery of them .The subject material has been treated with sensitivity it deserves .

The show stealer has to be Sonam who delivers a first rate performance .Especially those portions where she narrates how she struggled right from her childhood are really touching .Hoever the final could have been better .The entire play in the climax seems unconvincing .

Overall a decent watch..

That's your prerogative. Sometimes, I get furious too when artists remake or sample songs and I don't think its done right. (Rihanna sampling Dragostei Din Tei is the one that pisses me off the most)

But as long as the song is remade with permission, there is nothing anyone can do about it. If not Javed Akhtar or even you can sue them.

I saw the movie and liked it

It's a brave attempt to do something new within a mainstream narrative

Sonam is good, but Rajkumar and Anil steal the show with their stellar acting

It isn't released in Gulf region:((((((
Damn I really want to watch this! And I'm stuck in this place till another 2+ weeks. I doubt it will still be in theaters back home when I travel :(
