Baring one song where she breaks into a dance, I thoroughly enjoyed it. People gave standing ovation in my theater. I literally cried at the end of it, so powerful!!!

I have never seen audiences whistling, cheering for a female lead or heroine like this in a theatre.

This film proves why Kangana is miles ahead of all her contemporaries.
With a boring 1st half and some unwanted laughs, I was loosing hope for Manikarnika and in my head, I was blaming Kangana for keeping the artist in her in backseat while trying different things( Direction, Script writing, Public spats etc etc).
Then came the terrific second half, It completely changed the whole narrative. Each scenes, keep on validating what a powerful actress she is. Usually I have issues with her dialogue delivery, but for a film like this it is mandatory for lot of dialogue baazi. She has improved there in leaps and bounds.
Spolier Alerts
The movie should have been shorter in length and should have worked more on VFX, it looks so tacky at places but In totality it works, One and Only because of Kangana.
Screenplay should been better, first half was really boring and nothing happend, but when she tookover gowalier, those portions seems drag.
Story needs more time to give justice to all the important supporting characters, who are more or less cameos .
Bharat and Vijayi bhaba are brilliant compositions but Other songs are not good or was not necessary , special the atrocious dance number.
Dailouges are well written and goes with the film.
Acting toh I already said, Kangana is brilliant , she is much better than the overall film.Ankita is confident but very small roles, Mohammad Ayub is a miscast, nor does he has the personality or acting to look the part.Jishu, Danny etc are good in whaever they got.
Action sequences are really good barring the VFXs

When she calls meetings with women of Jhansi to fight alongside men, Goosebump
The scene where she saves her son with killing one solider after another, Aigiri Nandini in background, near Kali Temple.I literally had goosebumps.
The scene when first time, she is thrown out of her palace and people join her with Mashal
The scene were she refuses to go bald and go to Kashi after becoming a widow
The scene where she saves her child and the child tied in her back with Sword in one hand and tears in her eyes, in background Jhansi is buring
All the war scenes.
