Though I am not a rap music fan, it was the lyrics which drew me. It is a nice synchronisation of spirituality (summed up in one or two sentences) with rap. (Compare the lyrics to Mere Laundry Ka Ek Bill by Farhan. Of course, I am not commenting on top notch music of Shankar Ehsaan Loy or the guitar in the song). Ranveer may not be a great singer, but rap music does not need a great vocalist. (At least this song). So Ranveer seems natural.

I also noticed, lyrics are by Divine as well as Dub Sharma 😆. I have seen his Azadi video during JNU controversy days. No wonder, why Zoya picked him 😉. Anyway, lyrics of this song is good. I will keep my criticism for the other song aside (That will remain anyway).

I like it.

His diction seems a bit funny to me in some words. But I think he has made a good effort to get into the skin of a street rapper.

Also, lyrical flow and meter in Hindi is different. So you cannot always compare to English.

I'm a huge enthusiast of all things rap and am glad there is nothing remotely American here cause guess what, its Indian rap. 😆 Again hiphop and rap have no nationality. Why would anyone expect American style from Indians. 😆 Thats so moronic. The comment above is the true joke thinking American rap is some sort of standard or something. FYI, most artists around the world make an effort to distance themselves from the american scene altogether cause authenticity is the key.
