@bold - underrating Simmba in the trailer actually worked in the movie's favour. People went in thinking of Singham as the ultimate boss...halfway realized Simmba is another crazy-level boss...and came out wanting to see more even after 2.5 hrs...Rohit Shetty knows his job and Ranveer Singh knows his art. Simmba Returns will be a confirmed crowd puller now. ⭐️

In the present generation only Ranveer has the looks and demeanour to be a tough hot cop. I think he'll get a few such tough characters in the future now...Is that military biopic confirmed? RS will be so hot and deadly as a soldier. ⭐️

Also since discussion is happening just want talk about the song Tere bin. When it released I saw it once. Chemistry I saw zero and Simmba i thought looked funny. And I think from Friday itself I've given it a million views and counting. 😆 Suddenly there's so much chemistry. Suddenly Simmba looks so hot. I don't get it. Seems like seeing the song in context of the movie changed everything for me. I seemed to have a whole crush on him now lol. I wanna know if it's only me.😆

I feel the opening day would have been better if there was a good trailer too. Probably why Monday did better than Friday cause wom. They also the gave the whole story away in the trailer. 😆

You make sense. After Zero debacle though, underrating something is always better than overrating it. WOM is very powerful now considering social media impact so anyways sales pick up later on. Shetty played it safe as RS being in a "in and as" movie was a first. But yeah, they gave out full story in trailer. Maybe cuz its a remake? Or maybe to have people come prepared for a serious change of pace? Such a turning from comedy to seriousness is not Shetty's typical style I suppose. He played safe there as well.

So good to see Ranveer getting the accolades that he truly deserves.

I think the biggest reason why Simmba worked was because it's the holidays and people were mega upset by Zero. When Simmba came, many's perception was Simmba will not work. Until people went to theatre to watch and the strong WOM came out. That's when the film started winning! Going in expecting it to be a regular affair and coming out thinking it was a regular affair but with a difference! And it's not the storyline that was different but Veer and the way he handled the role. IMO Veer deserves the most credit for this film's success. And knowing him, I'm glad he took different films and his own time to reach here. He learnt a lot along the way, tasted failures to humble himself, believed in himself(to be able to handle SLB kind of filmdom) and ofcourse not restricting himself into any genre. He is hands down the best actor of his generation! It's not easy to mould into a genre and ace the genres. He knows audience pulse. Today u just have to keep doing different than same old! He won't have any trouble in fitting into any role given that he gains experience from all these movies. Tell me how to be not feel proud as a fangirl?!
