Sonu without any doubt have a soft silky and romantic voice has been in industry for 25 years, these days he come in news for his straight forward comments without being politically correct more then his singing so choose the option what u feel ...

earlier he used to be cool these days he have become insecure yet arrogant i guess downfall effect when u reach down from peak it bound to happen ...

i dont support me too either ...its drama ...sona mahaptra recently accused anu malik but where were she before? she used to talk to anu malik on messages and also wishing him diwali and blah ...why were she even talking to him if according to her anu malik did wrong to her...then why this sudden me too came in her mind what she was doing when anu malik did with him why she was silent all these years ...in this me too drama the actual victim will suffer because seriously this movement have become a joke no one take it seriously if tomorrow a girl claming me too which actually happened to her. she would not be taken seriously

It is his own choice. If only he had not stepped down, there would not have been many singers since 2008 singing many songs. It would be his monopoly. No Arijit would have even be there. All songs were given to SN that he felt contended and also tediousness.

Ofcourse when he stepped down from monopoly it became easy to completely down him and erase him since his povs are different, also due to his anger issues and differences with companies. But all this happened only after he stepped down. No one could have overthrone him. He would have become next Lata Mangeshkar if he wanted to.

No one can replace his place ever. His voice and talent is unparalleled and God gifted even if he himself declined it. He is a genius if you hear his songs. He is an inspiration and motivation for singers such as Sunidhi and Shreya to become more creative and different and become better with every new song. He is a gift to Indian music lovers and music and film industries. But alas the industries don't care about it but the money.

I will get attacks but i say my opinion. He is one rank above Rafi in terms of his vocals and talent. He also has Kishore Kumar in him. The best of the both and much more. Such a classic voice and expertise. He is not only being wasted but also under respected these days.

I believe Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and KK are the next generation best singers after Rafi, Lata, Asha and Kishore. We should never forget them. They are on a different league. They are irreplacable hardworking and standout talented singers.

Though i feel it is a wrong move on his part, not just for him but for his fans and music lovers. Same thing happened with Kumar Sanu when he took break. Even KK's idea of singing two songs a year because he is content enough and media shy. I think one needs to be as passionate as Sridevi, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt to stay at the top for so long. Don't give up in the middle and feel contented. You won't be having same position and respect. (not all but in popular)

Honestly speaking, public taste has changed.

I personally like gravelly, throaty or harsh voice with slight texture like Arijit's, Atif's and Mohit Chauhan's or even Jubin. Sonu is too soft and gentle and I can't make myself to listen to any of his songs.

Same goes for Sunidhi and Shreya Ghoshal's screechy voice. I prefer harshdeep kaur over them.

Alka Yagnik had completely ruined 'Tum saath ho'.

Also, Sonu is a veteran and becoming veteran brings problem of excessive nakhrey. I don't think anybody is free to handle their nakhras when they can easily have someone better imo.

Plus, the rise of the likes of Badshaah and rap trend which simply can't suit with their madham voice.
