Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan have worked together on Dharma Productions' hugely-successful Dulhania franchise. Besides their great professional equation, Shashank and Varun also share a warm camaraderie. The two of them were supposed to team up again for Rannbhoomi, an epic war saga, which was announced earlier this year. However, we have learnt that Rannbhoomi has been postponed and instead, this winsome twosome will join hands for another exciting project.
AN ESPIONAGE THRILLER
Our source reveals, "Shashank has been designing an espionage thriller and he has bounced off the idea to both Karan (Johar, who will produce it) and Varun, who will, of course, star in it. The film is expected to go on floors in 2019.
Confirming the development, Shashank says, "Yes, I'm doing an action entertainer with Varun. We are still scripting the movie. It's something both he and I have never done before.
Another insider told us that the makers are planning to design the film on the lines of Jack Ryan or the Bourne series. "It's a spy thriller in which Varun plays a special agent. It's an innovative idea and all three of them (Karan, Varun and Shashank) want to present it differently. They are also planning to get renowned Hollywood stunt experts to design the film's action, our khabri informs.
