watched it last night with my husband. He was bored even before the interval and wanted to leave coz one of the couple sitting next to us did 😆

Honestly the concept and the message they were trying to send out was good, but the script was super bore and editing was very very bad. Production value was poor at some places too even though I liked how they showed the beauty of a small town Tehri. I am actually mad the director coz he had some great actors in place, I mean all the side characters were played by well known seasoned actors and they were all reduced to stupid one or two dialogue "bal and hua thera" wale scene. I am not sure if people of Uttarakhand actually speak like that or not but the actors surely butchered it by their overacting.

Shahid was good in few places so was Shraddha specially in the emotional scenes but their overacting overshadowed their good scenes. Divyendu was well okayish. Their love triangle began on a very stupid note and didnt make sense as to how it went from what. At least to me it felt half baked.

Yami was also strictly okay in the courtroom drama. She spoke her lines as if she has memorized them for a school play 🥱

Overall good concept but it was poorly executed with bad acting and even worse direction and editing.

movie was ok

most of the good shahid shraddha scene were already seen in promo

I prefered yami role over shraddha's as shraddha's was a bit silly but shraddha's acting was much better than usual

film is a love triangle between 3 friends. shahid's character is a crook lawyer, shraddha's is a fashion designer she is trying to choose between both her male friends. tripathi cant pay electricity bill as it is over-inflated and commits suicide. film is about shahid-shraddha characters reuniting to prove a point

film did have some over-acting shahid acted similar to r rajkumar

one time watch most romantic scenes already shown so not many new things. I did like the issues addressed in second part

the movie actually had a decent monday

I thought the movie was decent, with good songs, esp shahid who is very easy to watch on screen except for maybe in padmavaat.

and i've not seen India look prettier on screen in another movie. beautiful shots of uttarkhand. Even though sk's story was too idealistic, has it's heart in the right place, and I watched it in the theater and would watch it again if shown on tv etc. i esp like the ending with the names of the 2 guys on the bus, didn't understand what the purpose was of the 2 guys but the ending was very cute and with the right message. the triangle/quadrangle could have been more fleshed out, never did they expand on the balcony toothbrush scene or why she wore a saree etc, and no resolution to the poss feelings involved in that scene.

the last 3 movies I saw were bareilly ki barfi, judwaa and jab harry met sajel ( not on big screen though) and I thought this movie was better than all three.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu fell on Monday as it collected 2.75-3 crore nett on Monday. The fall is more than 50% from Friday but it was Muharram on Friday which gave collections a 15-20% boost. So in real value the drop is a little less than 50% but the important factor is that the collections are only around 3 crore nett when the film needed to be 4 crore nett.

The collections of the film are now 24.50 crore nett and will finish the week around 32 crore nett. The film had good non theatrical revenue which had covered 60% of the investment and despite theatrical business being poor it should cover the rest. Its done to satellite and digital that the film will not face losses despite doing poor at the box office and this has happened with many films this year. The first four day collections of Batti Gul Meter Chalu are as follows.

Friday - 6,25,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 7,25,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 8,00,00,000 apprx

Monday - 3,00,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 24,50,00,000 apprx

Jokes and trolling apart - I don't think the film is doing that bad. 25 crores in 4 days...Manmarziyan didn't even make that much in 2weeks lol

Its not a blockbuster though.
