After Kalank, Alia Bhatt wants to sign Rannbhoomi with Varun Dhawan?

Varun Dhawan made headlines when he announced his next, a period drama, Rannbhoomi, being helmed by Shashank Khaitaan. The project was very special for the actor since his collaboration with Khaitaan has always been successful at the box office and also this would be his first attempt at doing a period film. While Varun was always the first choice for the makers for this big project, they are yet to announce the lead actress for the film. Recently Shashank even dropped a hint saying how he's considering getting Alia on board for a hat-trick but nothing has been confirmed yet. However, now we learn that the actress, too, is keen on signing Rannbhoomi with Varun Dhawan as she hopes their collaboration will only be successful at the box office. According to reports by Mumbai Mirror, Alia wants to sign Ranbhoomi with Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitaan since she feels the trio has always struck goldmine with their different projects in the past. After Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania and later Badrinath ki Dulhaniya, the actress feels Shashank can give her another hit as her pairing with Dhawan has always been appreciated. However no official confirmation has been given yet and the makers are still considering names for the lead actress. Recently, during the promotions of Dhadak, when Shashank was asked if Alia will be paired alongside Varun in his period drama, he said, "We have not spoken about Rannbhoomi because I've been busy with Dhadak. Once we are clearer about the script and sure of the casting ourselves, we will be in a position to reveal more. It's a film we have dreamt of, so we won't hide the leading lady. He added, "As a child, while playing with He-man toys, I dreamt of making a warrior epic. I'm still in the research phase but happy that Varun is on board. Well, we'll wait for the makers to announce the big name and till then let's hope that Alia is the one.
